we watched the coverage on the ABC news this evening.

The good news....They did a very good job of covering the event.

The bad news....easily more than half of those on camera or in the crowd did not wear a mask.

One could only reach one conclusion from watching the video...most residents do not subscribe to wearing a mask (translated.....they don't give a (bleep) about containing the virus!!)

Mind boggling watching senior women screaming like teenage girls on the national news.

...this Thread won't last long - esp if there's a LOT of PRO-Trump comments. Saw the rally on CSPAN - GREAT THE VILLAGES!!! Our President LOVES us all here. He seemed to have a wonderful time.

The thread is not about Trump.
The reference to the rally is for where the crowd is.
The thread is about the growing number of residents who do not, will not support the effort to minimize the spread of the virus.

Time will be the determinant.

The people behind the president wore masks. Is it possible they only used film that showed people not wearing masks?

I think those folks valued being recognized on TV more than respecting those around them.

I just think that a lot of people flunked basic science.

I watched the live stream on my computer.... the lack of masks is disappointing, simply put, the science say's COVID targets the elderly with underlying issues, that's like 75% of that crowd..... love him or not, our president could help by insisting folks wear a mask. It's pretty simple. The numbers of infection increase 2 weeks after in every place he has held rallies...... read the news folks, 3 or 4 different sources confirm this......it ain't fake..... good day.....;)

Maskholes and Covidiots running about everywhere. It's going to be a very long rest of the fall, winter, and spring. The numbers are spiking worse than when things were being shut down and now stuff is being opened? Go figure? This is NOT a good trend at all, and it's not going to end well. Very sad indeed : (

Highest number ever for US reported today: over 81,000 new daily cases. But... the vaccine is so close. We just need to wait for it safely a little longer.

If you watch any rallies, all those behind the speaker always have masks on, while the rest of the audience are maskless. Always looking for the photo op.

I watch several news channels in different languages from different countries. I hear about the vaccine from them. I read the updates and the progress of the Covid vaccines daily - since March. Not sure about you but I am pretty convinced that at least one vaccine will be authorized within weeks. :)

There are a lot of people who do not believe COVID is as deadly or as contagious as others believe. You simply have to choose where to go or how to take care of daily duties. I order groceries online & pick up. I wear my mask in public & hand sanitize constantly. I do not go to squares or large gatherings. We do go out to dinner. If someone gets to close, I simply ask them to keep their distance. I have not had a problem with it. My life; my choice.

Wait until all the facilities in the villages are closed again due to a Virus spike and THEY will be the first ones to complain.

Attendees of the rally....., dont come out on the tennis, or pickleball court today or play softball or go to the golf course STAY HOME we dont want the virus even if you do.

I think it’s the other way around. They control who sits behind the president and they were only allowing people with masks or ‘positive’ signs sit there. Trump has realized the importance of masks for publicity.

Seemed like a lot of non Villagers present. Lots of idiots in this world..TV included

Had a look at the photos on the 'other site' and it looks abour 60-40 for masks.

Snowbird here, at my current location everybody wears masks...EVERYONE.

I can’t tell you how comforting that is when I leave the house, just seems everybody cares. There’s no whining, “I can’t breathe”, or this infringes on my rights. Everyone just does it. We were once one of the initial epicenters, now one of the safest.

My message here is you all will feel so much better if everyone would just get on board with a simple change in habits. Wish everyone could see the light.

Temperature is taken at entry point, mask offered.... No hateful comments, thankfully we are still able to make decisions about how we choose to live. Those that felt unsafe, sick or scared did not attend.

It was a great event attended by many - not just Villagers. Your choice to stay home and watch it on TV. Your choice to attend. Thank goodness we still have a choice these days! Take care of yourself and be happy.

If you want to stay home and rot, by all means. Stop telling everyone how to live their lives. Good luck with a vaccine. And for those of you who love the CDC, a study recently released stated that 85 percent of people who caught covid wear masks.
