Okay, something new on the MMP.

Coming home tonight on the MMP southbound towards 44, I come up behind a cart with a young female in the the back seat and a young male and a female in the front seat. All of a sudden, I get a whiff of a familiar odor from when I worked UC and then see a joint being passed back and forth. Just when I thought there was nothing new to see here in TV....đŸ€ȘđŸ€Ș

Grandparents, do you know what you’re grandkids are doing in your cart?

JohnN 11-27-2020 08:16 PM

Did you inhale a 2nd time just to make sure you weren't mistaken?

John_W 11-27-2020 09:15 PM

I have a neighbor who moved here from Orlando in 2012 and he was a regular pot smoker. When they legalized it, he was right there to get a prescription. He's for real, he has a 100% Vietnam agent orange disability. So it was nothing new on my block. He always asked me if I wanted any when he use to make his trips to Orlando. I said, the last time I had any was with Jim Dandy of Black Oak Arkansas just before he went on stage in '84, I wanted to keep that memory.

Mortal1 11-27-2020 09:50 PM

perhaps the grandparents supplied the weed....

Taltarzac725 11-27-2020 09:52 PM

Mary Jane is something I seldom smell here in the Villages.

tophcfa 11-27-2020 09:58 PM

Get used to it. It is legal in many states and as the next generation takes over it will eventually be legal nationwide. It’s only a matter of time. That being said, it will be regulated similar to alcohol, so people shouldn’t be consuming while driving a golf cart.

Should been de-criminalized years ago. War on drugs was lost before it started. No different than alcohol/ moonshine. Look 👀 how far moonshine has come. Once government figures it can make money off it it becomes legal. Cocaine will be next.

:ohdear: Measure 110 passed in Oregon. Hard drugs are o.k. but I think turkey with your family is illegal.

Maybe that was the group I pulled up next to at the intersection on Morse crossing 44 in the golf cart...

RICH1 11-28-2020 06:11 AM

tammy5912554@gmail.com 11-28-2020 06:35 AM

Smell it about every 4th or 5th round usually near the potty shack, but there's a house near the 6th tee of Virginia.......

Craftylady 11-28-2020 06:41 AM

Medical marijuana is legal in Florida, please don’t judge. Actually in most Florida counties it is also decriminalized so no jail, just a fine fir getting caught with it if you don’t have a license

Mikeodonnell73 11-28-2020 06:53 AM

Guess they were following their grandfather's example when he was finishing his beer after a round of golf!

You will NOTgoto jail. Youll get a smallfine unless youre carrying a couple of kilos on your back. Get real!!

ithos 11-28-2020 07:33 AM

I understand the libertarian mindset of decriminalizing drugs but extending it to certain hard drugs will have eventually have a profound effect on all in society.

The Opium Wars arose from China’s attempts to suppress the opium trade. Foreign traders (primarily British) had been illegally exporting opium mainly from India to China since the 18th century, but that trade grew dramatically from about 1820. The resulting widespread addiction in China was causing serious social and economic disruption there.

You now have judges in California that say that homeless people have a right to camp out on any public sidewalk including the one in front of single homes. Don't think it could happen in The Villages? All it takes is an election or two.

If I had to run across someone on the MMP who was under the influence,I rather run across someone who has has had a few tokes of pot than someone who has been sitting around the happy hour bars getting sloshed on martinis.

Kerry Azz 11-28-2020 08:26 AM

That’s too funny, it probably the Grandparents weed, Spoiler Alert” a lot of folks here smoke weed legally and illegally.

Kerry Azz 11-28-2020 08:30 AM

I guess your not aware that it is legal here. If you have a medical prescription for it.

fishon 11-28-2020 08:31 AM

I enjoyed working in a drug free company.
The potheads were fired.
Good riddance.

Dlbonivich 11-28-2020 08:34 AM

Who cares!

Joe C. 11-28-2020 08:36 AM

All illegal drug users and sellers should be tried and executed. Just like in Indonesia. That country doesn't have a drug problem.
Drugs cost $$$$ and when the users don't have enough $$$$ they steal, sometimes kill or injure, and destroy families. They are no good.

Grill Meister 11-28-2020 08:38 AM

Alas, I must have lead a mis-spent youth. I have no idea how marijuana smells. Poor, poor, pitiful me.

Do you think that many grandparents in The Villages are not doing the same thing?

The only thing unusual here is that the people were young. And that's not so unusual during the holidays.

Heytubes 11-28-2020 09:42 AM

In my company’s worker comp insurance policy if you get an injury, automatic drug test. If failed, WC would not pay so you’re on the hook to pay your own med expenses. Glad I’m retired.

Moving to TV next spring. More than ever convinced it is the right move. Party on! What color loofah do I need to show 420 friendly? Lol

dewilson58 11-28-2020 09:45 AM

It's 100% medical required skunk smell.
