Saturday Morning Rant

Woke up at 7. No power. Opened my garage door manually and drove to McDonald’s for coffee. 12 cars in line at the drive thru, and 10 people in line inside. You can only sit at a few tables outside, and one was occupied by a guy smoking a cigar, so, he owns the seating area.

1. The power company should be more reliable.
2. McDonalds should open the inside seating area.
3. Cigar smoking should be banned in all dining areas.

Everything is fine now. The power is back on.

Topspinmo 06-05-2021 09:47 AM

I would of just rolled over and went back to sleep đź’¤. By time come out of dreamland everything back to normal.:)

asianthree 06-05-2021 10:13 AM

Never lost power, not even durning the hurricane issues, did Seco website give you info on power outage.

Could care less if McDonalds is open inside or out, but that’s a personal choice.

I don’t smoke cigars, but I do love the smell of an expensive cigar, which I doubt was the case.

So bad morning for you, hopefully if you awake tomorrow, things will be an improvement

dewilson58 06-05-2021 10:20 AM

& how was the coffee???

What an inconvenience having to wait in the service line, inside or outside drive up.

I didn't buy it. The line was too long, and there was no place to sit.

The McD in Lady Lake (441) is open inside from 7 am to 2 pm only. They don't have enough workers to staff the place later in the day (like almost every other business in the country). I was just in PA, OH, and WV. Same thing everywhere. Saw a Burger King offering a $1500 sign on bonus for a manager and a Taco Bell offering $1000 for crew positions.

Not SECO, Leesburg Electric. I didn't look at the website.

No Coffee?!?!?!?!? Glad you survived to tell the story.

Aloha1 06-05-2021 03:31 PM

Yeah, good 'ol Leesburg electric. Power goes off at least 3 times a week. They claim it's "fried squirrel" but at 3 AM?? Power out in Pine Ridge about 7 this AM and back on around 10AM.

valuemkt 06-05-2021 05:00 PM

First world retiree problem. Unretire and get back on the work wheel. You'll still be working Saturdays and out of the house before the crowd gets to McDonalds.

Stu from NYC 06-05-2021 05:49 PM

Wow a guy mentions loss of power and than his experience at McDonalds and gets criticized for it.

Tough audience

I could be wrong, but I don't think he was whining. I think he was just reporting. We can take it from there.

Oh Darling.............NO ONE has confirmed ransomware.
Cyber Attack, yes.
Ransomware No.

Significantly different.

The false reporting of ransomware was sensationalism.

tsmall22204 06-06-2021 04:57 AM

Is TOTV a venting place? Grumpy people. McDonald's owes you nothing simply because you lost power.

davephan 06-06-2021 05:17 AM

McDonalds isn’t the only fast food. Just drive to another McDonalds or another fast food restaurant.

Maybe you should think about getting a whole house, automatic starting, electric generator installed at your house. If you had that generator installed already, you’d be at home, and your electricity would still be on.

I’m still waiting for our whole house, natural gas, automatic starting electric generator to be installed. We ordered the generator in January, and have to wait until July for the installation. Hopefully, there won’t be a power outage before the whole house electric generator is installed!

If the owners of this McDonald wants to stay in business and make money they need to give better service.

ragtag22 06-06-2021 06:09 AM

Waking up is always a good thing in TV! That should be a good start to your day.

J1ceasar 06-06-2021 06:11 AM

Hey at least you woke up

.
Be thankful for everything else in life.

I’m sure McDonald’s wants to stay in business, the problem is the overly generous unemployment benefits make it too easy for workers to stay home.

Agree…no cigar smoking in public eating area. Very inconsiderate.

Billy1 06-06-2021 06:49 AM

Keep reporting where the cigar smokers are, so I can avoid them.

A house on a nearby street has a generator that faces the street. When the power goes out at 7 AM, it probably wakes up half of the people on the street. You can hear it from about six houses away. I wouldn't want to live in a neighborhood with small lots where every house had one of those.

jimkerr 06-06-2021 07:43 AM

I would have waited for my coffee. I get grumpy like so many in this thread if I don’t have mine!

Pdesensi 06-06-2021 07:52 AM
