Best place for breakfast?

We are fairly new to the Villages and have family over visiting.
We need to find a nice place for breakfast.
What do you recommend?

Rae Rae's, Darnell's and Flying Biscuit. We did not care for the food at Metro Dinner.

For an Old fashioned Diner experience (with a walking opportunity afterwards) go to Ducks Dam Diner in Moss Bluff on the Ocklawaha River - if you leave there hungry it's your own darn fault !!

Where ever you decide to try, go there yourself before your company arrives. Lots of varied opinions on the "best."

Our all-time favorite is Glenview on Sunday morning.

Rae Rae's has at the best eggs and bacon in the area, Cash Only.

If you are in Belvedere, which where I am , would suggest Bob Evans or if small diner suits you better then Darrell’s in Southern Trace .

Bob Evans, by far, is the best restaurant for breakfast in The Villages.

If you are referring to First Watch, I agree that it is overpriced.

Another vote for Billy’s across from Lowe’s on 441.

In Belvedere, you are very close to Metro Diner (Belvedere to left on 466, down the road a few blocks on the right). We like their food and selections.


Or you could follow 466 the other way to 441, turn right & go up the road to Rae Rae's on the right (our personal favorite.) It's true they only take cash, but there is an ATM in the diner.


You can call ahead and put your name on the list. Top notch ingredients.

What is particularly annoying is that they charge you almost 3 dollars for coffee even if you only want one cup, and the price is not on the menu. Very deceptive.

Billy's charges $2.99 for coffee, and they have the smallest eggs I've ever seen. But my friend loves their potatoes. I'm a grits fan, and I think their grits are mediocre. But their servers are very friendly.

I still vote for Rae Rae's.

Agree on the Flying Biscuit in Lake Sumter - Our kids came to visit and ate there. They LOVED it!

For a really good breakfast with no frills, I recommend a diner called Fruitland Park Cafe on 441 in Fruitland Park, just south of 466a. Otherwise, First Watch - two locations.

Can’t beat Cracker Barrel on 441, near Lowe’s. Enjoy!!
