Looking for a Bar or Nightclub

Nothing sleazy (well not too sleazy I guess), adults only (don't care to hear or see children). Nothing I've experienced in any of the squares has what I'm looking for unless I missed one.
Full service please as I enjoy a good Bourbon.
The only way I can describe what I'm looking for is this... if Dean Martin walked in and liked what he saw. We'll that's the kind of place I'm looking for. I'd be willing to drive a few hours if need be. I'd just like a fun place to unwind and enjoy.
Thanks in advance. = )

retiredguy123 10-01-2021 03:07 PM

Wow. There is no shortage of bars in The Villages. Most are too noisy for me. If I were Dean Martin and had to stay in The Villages, I would probably go to The Chop House. You could also try Mezza Luna in Colony Plaza when they have a guy playing music. I like it because it is not too loud. But, for a real nightclub, you may need to go to Ocala or Orlando.

ex34449 10-01-2021 03:12 PM

Mezza Luna is more a restaurant. So I guess the hunt is on for a nightclub. None of the bars in the Villages appeal to me.
Thanks

Have you tried the Sip Restaurant and Jazz in downtown Leesburg?

ex34449 10-01-2021 03:33 PM

No I haven't but the pics looks like it has possibilities. Years ago there was a place in Inverness but sadly they shut down. Subdued lighting, seriously good bartenders, a piano, few tables but a slew of secluded booths. It was fantastic.

Unfortunately, it looks like Sip may have just gone out of business this week.

My understanding is that Margarita Republic in Spanish Springs is a nightclub after 9:00.

ex34449 10-01-2021 04:16 PM

Not really but thank you.

billethkid 10-01-2021 05:31 PM

GarVino's in Lake Sumter Landing has a wine and beer bar with entertainment.
Cozy/Cheers like.

Hop on your Harley and go to Copperhead Lodge Saloon in Leesburg.

If you manage to find one please let me know. These other places are SO boring and drab, not to mention most of the bartenders have no clue how to make a proper drink.

9pm.... so laughable NYE must be a total blah....

Luggage 10-02-2021 06:06 AM

If you really want a place to go to that's classy, you can go to Bernes steakhouse in Tampa, they have an upstairs for drinks and desserts . A little further is Clearwater with a few places more for partying but now that it's not summer it might be quiet. Enjoy the ride.

Luggage 10-02-2021 06:08 AM

Also, there are a dozen high-end restaurants in Orlando that would fit your bill that have Bars .

Definitely not a Dean Martin bar. As long as smoke is OK with you - this is a smoking bar, and the only time we checked it out you could cut the smoke with a knife - it's a decent neighborhood bar.

msilagy 10-02-2021 06:24 AM

Unfortunately the villages is not a place to enjoy the ambiance you are seeking......Chicago, NY, yes! The Chop House possibly depending on who the bartender is. Very overrated but enjoyable to many coming from cities that do not sport many of these type restaurants.

I used to love Main St Bistro in SS ...sadly no more !!

Try Anti Monopoly Drug Store it a speakeasy bar in Downtown Ocala. You have to follow them on FB to get the daily password to get in. Downtown Ocala has a lot of new places worth trying.

Never been there myself, but with all that smoke, Dean Martin and the 'ratpack' would have been right at home!

Barbscats 10-02-2021 07:17 AM

Sips in Leesburg has closed.

Orange Blossom Inn north on 441.

Wow, so love the Villages and all it has to offer, day and night! Hoping that I can always find what I enjoy right here!

Legends in Leesburg. Margarita Republic later in evening. If you like country, County Line Bar.

I'll have to do that. A speakeasy type place would be great.

collegeref 10-02-2021 08:29 AM

The band at Spanish Springs last night sang a Dean Martin
song 😂😂😂

The only place around here was SIP in downtown Leesburg. It just closed due to a lease situation.

SIP's is now closed

Avoid Margarita Republic.

As you put it.... very sleazy.
Rastafarians smoking weed out front, girls twerking in the street.

What next?

I surely will if there is a place found. Right now a classy gentlemen's club is the closest thing to what I'm looking for. Surely won't be any kids around but not exactly what I was looking for. lol
Review yes, pics... probably not.

What was the name of it?

It's been too long, I can't remember. It was in a small strip center behind the court house. It was owned by a couple of lawyers and they got into a dispute with the building owner from what I gathered. It was a classy and quaint little place just full of good times.

Retiredguy, I apologize that I’m totally getting off the subject but you always make common sense on your comments. But do you know why when I make a comment it always seems like this TOTV is always gone the next day. Why? Anybody can answer! Yesterday’s TOTV was gone today, where did it go?
