Do you enjoy certain "dancers" at Brownwood?

Do you have any favorite "dancers" that you enjoy watching at Brownwood? I have 5 that I enjoy watching. One dances by herself and takes bows like a Broadway star. Another skips along the square seemingly in her own world. One tall gent stands erect, bending his knee to the music and then spins around and around. Another gent shows good dance moves and then hits the ground on one arm while spinning around. The last is a woman dancing with her partner with the same moves throughout the dance with a lot of gyrating. I truly enjoy watching them all!

We go to listen to music and not much interest in people who want to direct attention to themselves.

Spot on description of the dancers. Have seen them at LSL also.

Far better than the line dancers during a polka number at the Heritage Fest last night.

ex34449 10-02-2021 09:38 AM

I enjoy watching anyone that is having a good time.

KAM+6 10-02-2021 09:45 AM

The lady that dances the perimeter with the fanny pack and a knee support cracks me up. She has a great time and obviously loves to make her own, unique steps.

The web cam at Brownwood is entertaining for people watching. Wish there was audio.

Exactly, well said.

I will have to get out more or at least use the webcam.

Me too! I admire the free spirits out there and say to them, “Let your freak flag fly!”

I don’t even care if they line dance to Christmas carols.

Does anyone actually know these people (or had a conversation with them) or if they are Villages residents? Just wondering if they come just for the dancing or what.

Boring or not, it’s shared by many.

My attention seems to catch those that look around to see who's watching them stiff dance, interesting how they don't realize they have no rhythm while moving their legs and swinging their arms.

SIT DOWN!

No particular reason. Just curious about why they like to dance in front of everyone.

There was a young couple at LSL that I watched in awe one time a couple of years ago. I took a video of them dancing and still have it on my phone. They were swing dancing and looked like they were having a great time. The couple looked like professional dancers and I've never seen that caliber of dancing at any of the squares before them or after. They finished their dance with a very controlled lift. Just awesome to watch up close. They must have been visiting.

thevillages2013 10-03-2021 05:35 AM

It’s been a couple of years maybe three but there was a petite shemale that was pretty entertaining at LSL

I love watching couples that you know have been dancing with each other for forty years…….I could watch them all night…they just make me smile.

Go dance in the rain and don’t care who is watching, just feel free enough to be yourself

I wonder if it was the same young couple that we saw in Brownwood SQ. The man passed out business cards afterwards. They were great fun to see. Not certain how long ago it was, as time is flying by. Thanks for the happy memory.

you mean the one with the mini-skirt, and the bandana around his neck?

I really wanted to reply but I was afraid I would end up sounding as crotchety as you sound with your SIT DOWN.

Professional dance instructors will often do this, and even ask singles to dance to encourage potential students to sign up for dance lessons.

The person (a "he" who pretends to be a "she") sometimes dances 3' in front of people. That is just revolting.

Love to sit and listen to live music, that's the reason these musicians are getting paid for to entertain us.
Some people need to ride a bike before experimenting with dancing, the peddles will keep you in sync..

Not really. It’s like watching a freak show.

meme5x 10-03-2021 11:33 AM

Squares are crowded..even outside makes me nervous because I still believe quite a number don’t even live in TV..should be monitored.. shouldn’t be free for just anyone beside Villagers and their guests

Hank’s mom 10-03-2021 11:33 AM

How sad that view dancing as a way of drawing attention to themselves!! Probably true of walkers, runners or anyone moving their body and exercising. Maybe everyone needs an indoor bike!
