That's an understatement.

is it just me or does anyone else remember this type of behavior, dissention, and hatred after any other presidential election prior to 2016... just goes to prove there are whackos on both sides

He has issues....................................

ChicagoNative 10-27-2021 06:35 AM

Is Ed McGinty the dude that used to ride around the squares with his anti-Trump signs? Why was he arrested?

PugMom 10-27-2021 06:39 AM

news says he was arrested again yesterday for violating the protection order. doesn't he have family nearby who can reach him? in no way do i like or support him, but he's in serious danger of losing his freedom by being sent to some asylum.

For harassing someone that did not agree with him and parking his golf cart across the street from their home. He is cheap entertainment, though. Like a peeping Tom, he may not be dangerous now, but his actions need to be curtailed before someone is harmed.

I seem to remember a lady named LiZa who used to post on here, having a well decorated golf cart for the previous guy.
She was, to put it mildly, quite outspoken!

Jerseygirl08 10-27-2021 07:49 AM

I think this man is a prime candidate for going on a shooting spree with an AK-47. I wouldn't even go to the pool when I knew his 30 days were up for fear that he could harm everybody who looked at him the wrong way. He needs more than a psych eval. but good point. This man has said, with his own mouth, that he wants to be famous because of his political stance. S-C-A-R-E-Y.

To paraphrase a quote from another mentally ill person:

"you also have people that were very sick people, on both sides."

Yes, you have to watch your back these days. The wackos are all over the place.

Taltarzac725 10-27-2021 08:11 AM

I did tell Ed on Facebook to cool it. I wish he had listened. A restraining order is a serious thing and not to be taken lightly. And it is late October 2021.

that's the worst part, isn't it? after being advised to cool it, he keeps it up & now it becomes a mental issue. to openly defy a court order is not rational thinking.

No. It is not being rational. He lets them win when they control his actions. Best thing is just to ignore those trying to your goat and they seemed to have abducted his, so to speak.

This man is a time bomb. Reminds me of school shootings where many knew the shooter was dangerous, but nothing was done. Innocent people are going to get hurt here. There needs to be some form of intervention. Does he have a wife or any other family that can intervene? Very concerned.
Regarding the women that wore the anti Biden tee shirt that set him off., the days of wearing this type of polarizing garb is well behind us. Too many nut jobs all around. Your free speech can cost you your life in today's world. Sad state of affairs.

Poor guy…..obvious has TDS.

New Englander 10-27-2021 10:36 AM

He seems to be obsessed with harassing this woman. This will not end well if he continues to carry on like this. I hope he don't own and weapons.

I am glad Patrick Henry or Nathan Hale didn’t think that. We would all be getting ready for afternoon tea.

That's what so many seem to miss today, once we've given up a right we'll almost never get it back. Free speech used to be one of those rights, but the side that used to promote it has now flipped to the side who no longer tolerates it. Up is down, and Left is Right...

Gpsma 10-27-2021 03:17 PM

Who was the guy years ago..who, not politically, acted like Mr Ed. Use to bother women at the pools and dances at the rec centers?

I think he finally screwed up and had something to do with stolen cars. Think he is in prison now

NotGolfer 10-27-2021 03:25 PM

I found his FB page and man this person is enthralled with all the attention! I think I might have read somewhere he wants fame so he keeps fanning the "flames" to keep things going. The other's comments on his posts I just shake my head at....as they seem equally as (I can't even think of a descriptive word) as he is. How did folks get so engrained with their political stances??? I remember the times one didn't even know how their friends and families voted, not did they care. To obcess on one person so heavily even after they're not in the lime-light puzzles me. DJT is two years out of office and someone else has filled that spot. I, for one, am just over it with ALL of the political crap. I'd say stop watching the msm and get a hobby!!

But Ed wasn't "doing" anything. He wasn't being violent, he didn't threaten to harm anyone. He was exercising HIS right to free speech. Loudly. Obnoxiously. But that's all it was. He didn't try to peek in the woman's house, he didn't even get out of his golf cart. He didn't trespass on her property, he didn't use a bullhorn to disturb the peace in the middle of the night. He just parked on the street in his golf cart-of-signs. The judge awarded the woman a restraining order against him - for exercising HIS right to free speech.

They abducted his "goat", or his "goad"? :1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl:

He harassed her, in person, at her local rec center, then followed her home...

You have no "right" to do that... We have anti-stalking laws for a reason...

He parked in front of her house, the police came and told him to leave. He left.

Hours later, she called the police AGAIN and complained that he had returned to harass her a second time.

Except - this time - this second time - never happened. He has proof that he was never there a second time. So it sounds to me like SHE was doing the harassing the second time around by filing a false complaint against him.

She got the judge to award her a restraining order against him for something that didn't happen.

Then - he violated that restraining order, which was for something that didn't happen, by parking his golf cart within 30 feet of her golf cart, and entering the Hadley pool, where she was.

He shouldn't have done that. It was a stupid thing to do. But - he also shouldn't have had a restraining order against him for something he didn't do.

Can you please cite a link that states he didn't do these things? Everything I read says he did... Thanks!

You seem to have the timeline confused...

Ed could probably use some anger management classes he’s getting a little more in tense, but what normal adult goes around wearing a T Shirt and I quote from newspaper the Presidents name and the word sucks, I don’t care which President or whoever if you put something like that on your looking for trouble and if I offended anyone by using that word I’m sorry but that came from paper

So if as claimed, the second visit triggered the restraining order, and there is evidence that he did not show up a second time at the VICTIM'S house, I would presume that even a brand new criminal attorney would be able to present the evidence in court making the restraining order request moot based upon a supposedly "non event". So please present proof of this claim that the VICTIM lied to the police, which could actually trigger legal action against the VICTIM for filing a false report.

I suspect that once again we'll not see that evidence presented to support, what will then become, another unsubstantiated claim.

Finally, I find it ironic that the arrested individual claims a first amendment right to free speech, yet is attempting to squelch the free speech of someone who opposes his views.

Woodshed

Pretty obvious the old boy has never been behind the woodshed. It actually will cure a bad attitude and his needs an adjustment of monumental proportions. I was trying to help him while he was parked at Morse and 466-A one day. I rolled down the window and told him he was numero uno

Luggage 10-28-2021 05:07 AM

I've said this about a lot of the judges around here that they have little understanding of human nature, and what is required is not restraining orders or jail time but compassion and required time in a psychological Ward and or required weekly visits with psychiatrists and psychologists, as well as getting family involved. I shudder to think how many people are jailed over relatively minor incidence like stealing milk from supermarkets or breaking down over the stress of life when it would be better just to help these people
