Rocket launch

Seen rocket launch this evening. First time I seen the booster come back down. Neat!!!!!.:coolsmiley:

asianthree 01-31-2022 07:28 PM

This booster seemed to take forever. The last time we could see the booster come down, it was even better view

Bjeanj 01-31-2022 07:58 PM

We can see most of the launches from our driveway and it’s always great. This evening, I wasn’t sure which was the booster for awhile, and when I saw the puff of condensation (?), smoke (?), it briefly brought back bad memories of Challenger.

I had same problem, couldn’t tell at first which was the booster or the rocket. But, after I saw the separation I could tell. Seems like the booster keep going up for quite awhile. Lost it till it re-lite to slow it down.

Was at Evans Prairie to view the launch and then to view the first burn and then the final landing burn of the 1st stage as it returned to the cape. Because of the sun angle and darkness approaching, it was a sight to behold.

We saw our first launch tonight, pretty cool, at least there were no cruise ships tonight. We saw it pretty good out in our back yard.

Woodbear 01-31-2022 10:30 PM

Get the Space Launch Schedule app for your phone. Most launches will direct you to the YouTube feed to see the different phases of the launch once it is initiated.

WindyCityzen 02-01-2022 06:07 AM

Followed it waaay south. Over Miami I wager. Flew south polar orbit.

Bzemom22 02-01-2022 06:46 AM

Missed launch

Oh mans...heard it was possible to see rocket launches as we just moved to TV. Can you please share how you receive advance notice so next time we are prepared? TY

nick demis 02-01-2022 07:19 AM

Wish Asimov could have seen this.

Miekies 02-01-2022 07:20 AM

I live in Glenbrook village, where's the best place to see the launches from there? Thanks for the app suggestion, I downloaded The Next Spaceflight app

As Woodbear said get the space launch schedule app. I just downloaded it and it shows you all upcoming launches. You can filter by location. There’s one this afternoon.

jparsoneau@aol.com 02-01-2022 08:51 AM

Where in the villages can I see a rocket launch

Was curious, I am new to the villages I am in the south part is there anywhere that we could go locally or in the neighborhoods to see rocket launches. I asked because you said you could see it from your driveway? Thank you

One advantage of living in Florida! First time we saw it was when we were in Spanish Springs in the sq. watching a band play & people dancing. Only in America!

The app is space launch now.. you can also go to Space.com for listed launches and SpaceX.com.
As for viewing the launchs just look to the east trying to have a clear view. Afternoon launches are iffy to view but night launches are awesome. Yesterdays launch was one of the best we have seen.

No wonder I never get notified. Dave never calls me.
Hmph!
😠

Calisport 02-01-2022 10:58 AM

Yeah, was driving the golf cart and the view was spectacular. I liked how fast it was going. Wish plane fights to Europe or Asia could be that fast. Loved the shiny rod shape I guess the sun and propulsion together.
Looks like the next one is 4 days around 1pm

I don’t know about other areas but I am in the Spanish Springs area. Can see many of the rocket launches from our driveway.

You want to find yourself a clear view looking to the southeast. I watch the live feed on You Tube. As soon as the rocket launches, I look up and there it is!
