Is TV Building North?
I heard TV is planning on building north of Mulberry across Highway 42 to the north.
Has anyone heard for sure? |
Haven’t heard that rumor, seems unlikely to me.
|
New one on me they are concentrating down south in a big way

I agree, I have heard nothing about this, and it seems unlikely.

Go look in my posting history of a post I made April 29, 2015 called “South of 44.” A lot of posters back then mocked me for reporting that the Villages was planning to cross 44 and build a huge development. In fact, one of the posters who doubts this claim also doubted my post. Could these people work for the developer? Why would someone so wrong back in 2015 do the same thing again in 2022? Who knows whether or not they will build more in other directions. It is very possible.

Lots of open land about 44. I would imagine the developer did not care for the price of the land he ultimately didnt buy.
Wonder if a more attractive price came along and new houses will be built up north? |
Ah yes. "I heard..."
|
It's a different developer, not The Villages.
|
Much easier to build in Sumter County where the local government is under almost complete control.
|
Across 42 from the the new nursing home, something like 1400 units going in but not the Villages. A different developer is doing it. Not a lot of frontage but should make it fun for us up north. Actually probably will not notice.
|
No, they aren't building in New York yet. First to Orlando then maybe in the other direction. They are waiting for extra long range golf carts first.

Not until they finish building out the Village of Margaritaville, which will be in the Keys. Might take a couple of years to get down there, though.

What nursing home across 42?
|
I heard Marion Cty will not allow TV to build any further north.

Or we all will be riding horses to the squares. |

There is a lot of history with the Morse family and Marion County, I am sure if anyone has the time they could research it.
Marion County has several very high end developments built especially for horse owners with lots of 5 to 10 acres. It is a different type of living from what TV provides. I know that one of the developments in Marion is for people who own their own planes and keep them right there on their lot! |
To go where no man has gone before. Follow the voyage of the villages.

That sounds like the logical answer IMHO, there's enough going on in the southern area to keep our developer and his resources busy |

Found it. 2017 Article in "the other news": Villagers who have been waiting to have horses on their property or fresh eggs for breakfast had their wish come true. Chatham Acres, seven five-acre parcels off of SE Highway 42 at a cost for the property starting in the $500,000’s (2017 dollars). Chickens may be permitted if continuously contained within a chicken coop approved by the Developer. :D This guy we saw coming out of the drive-up at Chick-Fil-A must be one of the owners. |
developers develop...it should be no surprise that he might be acquiring a land bank elsewhere
