The Flying Bisquit
Went here for a nice breakfast this am. 1st time here. Wait was expected & not too long. Hostess was very nice. Waitress was nice but obviously very busy. While waiting for our food, had to listen to the staff argue about buying tables & sharing tips. Finally a nice looking bisquit came out, way before breakfast. (Was cold by the time meal arrived) then the meal.....all eggs were ordered over easy - came out cold & broken. Bacon was a joke - cooked to death, shattered when touched. Also cold. Steak was so tough, could hardly cut it with a knife - eating it was not happening! So tough! Potatoes were overcooked & cold. Grits were Luke warm at best. Can't believe a restaurant can charge the prices they do & serve food so horrible! Worst in the Villages! Save yourself the time, money & grief....go somewhere else!

Another breakfast place that hides the beverages. No beverages shown on the menu. But, if you want coffee, it will cost you 3 dollars.
|
Thanks for the heads up.

As I recall food does not even come with a bisquit. Not my favorite place

And I've never had a bad meal there. One of our favorite places to frequent... Go figure...
Plus, I don't think I've ever NOT had a biscuit included with the meal... |
The biscuit always comes first thing. Sort of served as an appetizer. Yes, if you hold onto it until the meal comes out, it will be cold. I like the place, is it perfect? No, but with the staffing problems everyone seems to be having, I think they’re doing pretty good.

BTW, on my way to work today, I stopped in the Marathon station at Lake Deaton Plaza and got a pop tart and a diet Mtn. Dew; in and out in less than 2 minutes. It satisfied my hunger and the cost was less than $5. You peoples standards are way too high. |
I'm not a fan of grits. I also don't really go nuts for biscuits, I'm more of a rye toast kinda gal. I've looked at their menu and none of it appealed to me. If I'm paying $10+ plus tax and tip, it'd better be exactly what I want, all of what I want, and none of what I don't want.
So I go to Darrell's instead. Been to First Watch, that was phenomenal, though again - very expensive. But at least it had what I wanted, which was... 1 or 2 eggs toast with real dairy butter home fries bacon I wouldn't eat there regularly because of the price. But it's a nice treat once in awhile. Their bacon is soooo good. |
Makes my breakfast of Bran Flakes and fruit look a bit sad!:icon_wink:

That would be back before dirt...

I have eaten there several times without your experience. Food has always been good. Suggest you give them another try.
|
They used to bring out a plate of biscuits before the meal AND more biscuits with the meal but not anymore.
|
Not our experience, we found it to be one of favorite breakfast places.

And I would have taken you for an avocado toast, fruit and granola girl. A lesson to all-----see what happens when one "assumes":1rotfl::1rotfl::1rotfl: |

We also had a terrible experience the last time we were there. Didn't go back.
