Neck tattoos.
I must be getting old. Little things seem to get under my skin more and more. I try to suck it up and shoulder-shrug. But,
Seems as if there are more and more folks, esp sports and entertainment and sometimes people right in our neckofthewoods. Big NECK tattoos. After spotting this I wonder what they will do when they’re 60, 70, 80. Perhaps tattoo removal will be a good investment business. Mind you I’m fine with tattoos, it’s your body and life. But sometimes it’s a Yikes. Esp the sleeve tatts and hand tatts. And now Neck. When we have a Server or such with a few tatts I ask the significance etc etc. Also on the “getting cranky” topic, I just got back from a drive up and back on Buena Vista. Going around about 16 roundabouts. 5 of them, drivers simply HAD to go directly side by side with me even tho I slowed etc before. 2 even cut the line close and I needed to brake more than normal in case they would cut over. It was not busy and no need to cut corners. C’mon - common sense folks. Don’t parallel drive around roundabouts!!! |
Neck tatts? How about the face and head tatts? One thing good that can be said is these people will be easy to locate in their geezer years when Silver Alert are posted about them.

Neck and Face Tattoos: When you go into the Tattoo Parlor just say, "Give me something that will cause my mother to cry herself to sleep every night for the rest of her life"

Q: Which road has more roundabouts, Buena Vista or Morse? A: Buena Vista By my count, Buena Vista has 20 and Morse has 13. |
Drive next to me on the roundabouts if you like. You stay in your lane, I’ll stay in mine, and we’ll have no problems.

I have 9 , unless I’m shirtless or wearing a tank top you can’t see them , they were done in different places in the world , they are all black and tribal symbols , significant to different warrior groups , which mean something to me after 40 years of my life spent at that trade

I definitely have my thoughts on tattoos but would never not like someone for having one. I use to think how wasted did they have to be but it is more main stream now for sure. I do wonder why people take beautiful bodies and cover them with graffiti. Not for me but for more than ever before.

Not a fan of tattoos especially on the neck or face.

Doesn’t matter
It’s funny how you seem to be worried about your thoughts, not anyone else’s? I wonder how ear lobe gauging interrupts your thought process or prejudging?

Wait, isn't that the point? |

Their tattoos greatly assist in identifying perps, especially face and neck tattoos as they appear in mugshots.

"Isn't that the POINT?" referring to the needle? Good. |

Some tattoos are works of art that tell a story……. Sometimes, if I meet someone whose ink is especially eye-catching and if the opportunity presents itself, I say, “May I ask about the story of your ink?” (Never has anyone I have asked taken that question as an insult. They always share the story and I thank them for telling me.) I don’t have any tattoos. The next generation of women in our family have a few, all of them have stories. But their ink does not draw attention. All of these women are in successful careers and probably thought carefully about where and how much to ink…… I think it was wise of them to keep their tattoos small and subtle, and maybe not showing at all, although now tattoos are commonly seen on women……. But that’s just silver-haired me thinking it’s smart for women competing in the world of careers to not have tattoos announcing their presence and possibly drawing attention from their brains. (And don’t get me started on cleavage.) Of course, I am a dinosaur from the generation of women who read that book Dress for Success. Speaking of being a dinosaur — and now, I am silver-haired (grew it out during Covid and I love it) — I have since found that I now have a silver-haired bad angel who wants me to say what I am thinking because the hair with an accompanying smile can get me by with more….. When I meet young people who are covered with tattoos, that had to have cost them a fortune, my silver-haired bad angel wants me to say, “Listen sweetie, have you started a Roth IRA?” Boomer |
Some (few, imho) actually seem like art, but most seem like low grade graffiti to me. I understand the significance of various tribal symbols, but don't necessarily find them attractive. I think that there are a lot of folks with tattoos who think it is cool, but will regret getting them as time goes by.
If you really want to show how tough your are, or how committed you are and see the result before it is on/in your skin, forget the tattoo and get branded. Now that is body art. |
Just ask Otzi how long tattoos have been around. Otzi - Wikipedia

Actually YES, it will (being serious, not snarky). Yesterday I just happened to catch a news clip, don't even remember the state, think Penn but not sure. But what caught my eye and ears was a chief of police, who IN ALL SERIOUSNESS as he responded to reporters questions about such blatant, daylight, violent crime, said "yes, it's a very serious situation that expands daily. Then he said (and I noticed he was not making a joke), "Fortunately there is a growing number of violent criminals who are marking themselves with total face and necks tattoo coverings, which does at least help us." Went on to tell about a young teller who was so stunned by an armed robbery where the criminal did not wear a mask, but had his entire face covered in a series of animal tattoos which enabled them to apprehend him within hours the officer said ! |
So you don't like tattoos and want to shame people who wear them. Cool. I don't like balding heads on men. They should wear wigs or hats. I also don't like wrinkles on old people. They should all get face lifts so their divots and skin trenches don't offend me. And while we're being offended, can we talk please about old women who need bras and refuse to wear them? Just - stay home. Seriously.
Okay who are we going to shame next? Your turn! Moral of the story: if your face is that ugly that you have to make someone else feel small about their choices in decorating their own bodies, then maybe you should look into getting some inks to cover it up. Or - learn to love yourself, and then you won't feel like you should criticize someone else for their choices in body decoration. |

Anybody driving the roundabouts next to another car or truck is asking for an accident, never drive side by side in roundabouts slow or speed up.and signal your lane directionmoves.

I had a small tattoo on my buttock.
My old body can't fill my sagging skin these days, so now it has settled just behind my right knee. Could become an ankle 'Tat' in a few more years!! |

Face and neck tattoos were popularized by law enforcement, along with light up tennis shoes and saggy jeans it makes one easier to catch! Lol

The difference between going bald or being ugly versus tats is that baldness and ugliness just happens, people who get tats choose to do it and a great many of them are pretty ugly. I do not care what people do but the neck, face and head tats seem to indicate prison fare

I have a M on each Cheek of my Butt! So it says MoM. When I stand on my head it says WoW! Please don’t judge me!
I’m full of tattoos and my kids, forgetaboutit, they have a fortune invested in ink. I think it looks great. No face, hand, or neck tats on any of us! |

I think someone is a little sensitive on the face tattoo conversation! I personally play a game sometimes when drinking with friends at an event; do you think they have more money in A: the bank B: tattoos and they are probably playing their own game, look at that fat old freak, you think he's ???____??? ,but I don't CARE 😘 |

It's all so confusing... |
I'm not fond of facial inks, and not fond of piercings other than mundane earrings and maybe those tiny little diamond studs on the side of the nose some Indian women like. But I don't think ill of anyone who chooses more obvious expressions of their taste. They like what they like. That doesn't make them criminals, and it isn't only criminals who do it. Assuming that someone with facial inks must of course be a low-rent criminal and judging the person because of it is offensive.
If you have trouble understanding that I was demonstrating that point by using your own personal insufficiencies as an example, well that's on you. (you, being - whoever is offended by my tirade about bald men and women without bras) |

To each their own, but I have to wonder how someone with nose piercings blows their nose.
I guess very carefully. |
