email ad from TOTV
 

At around 3:15 pm DST I received an email from info@talkofthevillages.com. The subject was "Shop your way at Publix," and it was an advertisement for Publix..


Has anyone else received an advertisement via email from TOTV? This is very disturbing to me.

I checked both my email addresses inboxes and Spam. Have not received anything.

I got mine yesterday! It doesn't bother me. I have signed up for Club Publix so I get one or two emails from Publix every week. They have their weekly ad with the specials. I think I save money with the emails.

Use my junk email that I never check (don't even remember what it is) to sign up for sites, then use ad blocker.
No ads whatsoever on or from this site.

Maybe change your options under Settings and Options in your user profile?

I got it. TOTV is simply selling access to your eyeballs to an advertiser. That's the price of membership here. You can unsubscribe but that will probably be for all TOTV emails - not just ads.

Yes....and since it came from <info@talkofthevillages.com>, I assumed they sold our emails to Publix to use

I guess someone doesn't like me.

For a non subscription site, I think we get of pretty lightly regarding spam.

Yes I got an email & deleted it. It’s not like Publix doesn’t already have a semi-monopoly in TV. I don’t want any more ads in my email!
