getting rid of liver and spinach are steps in the right direction. Love that place.
|
Bet that 1% +/- orders liver and onions. Personally I hate it.
|
I agree too jays at Lake Sumter Landing used to be one of my favorite restaurants. The restaurant has been sold. There are all new employees there and new major company owns them. The menu has changed and the place has gone downhill. I will not be eating there anymore either.
|
Calves liver, bacon, fried onions and cabbage with a thick onion gravy, would be my 'last meal' request!

Whenever I see a restaurant billed as “NY style”, it usually means it's overpriced, overrated, over-hyped, and it under-delivers.
|
They do have good chicken salad!
|
What TV needs is a good ALBANIAN restaurant!
|
Too Jays quality has been tapering off for the last several years. We haven’t been there for more than a year. If it recently sold, the owners were smart to say goodbye.

I mentioned to the waitress that it was my favorite meal there and she said, "Yes, they were very popular". Dropping popular items is usually a great way to run a restaurant. Into the buffers! |
Liver n onions has been a Wednesday special at Orange Blossom Country Club - check out the ad in the Daily Sun on Wed.
|
Terrible
We went to Too-Jays in Brownwood the other Sunday morning for breakfast. It was the worse breakfast we have ever had in The Villages and surrounding areas!

I'm a New York and though I will go to Too Jays occasionally, it really never compares to the Jewish restaurants I grew up with and I'm not Jewish.

No business can avoid supply and demand not enough bought it

That's probably what having non ordered menu items does

My mother used to make the best liver and onions with bacon, and we would have it about once a week. Fast forward to adulthood...my wife hates the stuff. She won't eat it, won't cook it, and doesn't want me cooking it either. She hates the smell of it. I have yet to find a restaurant that makes it the way mom did. If I close my eyes and think real hard, I can still feature the smell of my mother cooking as I walk into the house after playing baseball with my friends. That could almost bring tears to my eyes!

Since it failed to make money in it's previous "life" things had to change - it's a business practice to continuously look at items that don't sell well or a have a low profit margin to change as customer's tastes change or costs increase. As for not being well run it's almost always a personnel thing. What food service business today doesn't have a problem in this areas? If you don't like the restaurant you have so many other choices. |
I have never liked liver and onions.
Nor do I care for spinach. So far so good |
Last night my dinner salad was 3 onion rings, 2 cucumber slices, and lettuce. Apparently they didn't want to make much of an effort.

Nothing wrong with onions either. Bacon? In moderation, never killed anyone |
