Most any gun shop will take them on consignment. They can also handle any necessary paperwork.
|
JB Guns in Sumterville, 12 miles south of Warm Springs Rd on 301, will sell on consignment with a 15% fee. They will take care of everything.
|
In Florida, the private sale of guns is legal. But, however you sell them, get a bill of sale with the buyer's name and address and the gun's serial number on it.
|
Took my guns to a pawn shop in Santa Rosa, CA when we were going to move to Florida in 1996. Or, most of them.
There are various pawn shops around which would work unless you have a collector's item. Gun Shops Mission Classified Above are some links from a Villages' gun club website. Home |
Gun shops, and pawn shops will buy used firearms.

Maybe it’s just us, but will only deal with a reputable gun shop. Pawn shops don’t make me feel comfortable

Ares. The best suggestion so far.

Call your local police department, I'm sure they've dealt with this before.

Thank you all

Try gunbroker online. It’s an auction site with good bids/prices.
(It’s a good place to calculate the probable value) Let them worry about state & federal restrictions. As others said, a shooting club or gun range will usually have a classified ad area for members. Do a bill of sale consistent with federal & state law (buyer has no felonies, no drug charges, etc. Run a background check) Also check for any gun shows & gun stores would probably purchase for resale but at lower price. |
The best advice to the OP on this sight , talk to people who know.!

Gun shows

Marion Market has gun dealers, so I would try there.

1. The buyer and seller must both be residents of Florida. Any firearm sale to a non-Florida resident must go through an FFL dealer. 2. For a handgun sale, the buyer must be at least 21 years old. For a long gun, the buyer must be at least 18 years old. Always keep a copy of the bill of sale, showing complete information on both buyer and seller, including Florida driver's license number; the date of sale; and a description of the firearm, including serial number. The BOS will be your proof of transfer should the firearm ever turn up at a crime scene after you sold it. |
Would be interested in seeing a list of what he has if he is so inclined. 3196314698

He could join The Villages Straight Shooters for $25 a year. They have a website to sell or purchase firearms and they also have some great club activities.
|
Why not try the Villages Straight Shooters Gun club? They have a web page with a classified section. Home
There is a place on the home page to ask questions to the gun gurus. They can help. There is also a Bill of Sale you can down load. Shooters World, Pawn shops etc will give you 50% or less of the guns value. They're a business and what to make as much as possible off the sales. It's much better to sell them yourself. I recently help a lady sell 15 guns after she lost her husband. Send me a pm if you have question on how to do this. |
Gun shop
From my sister in Lake City
Saw this on TOTV today. I can’t respond. Would you or Tom let them know there is a reputable gun shop in Groveland. Matt will help them out. Name of the store is Firebase Tactical 352-429-2423 |

It will take a little work but you will get a better dollar for the firearms by selling them on gunbroker.com Several pictures from different angle will be necessary.

When I moved down here I sold most of my guns to Nordic Gun and Pawn in front of the Wildwood Plaza on 301. He was, I thought, more than fair and actually gave me more than I expected on 2 of them. Keep in mind that unless you sell to someone that really wants the guns for him or herself that the others will all be re-sellers and will be offering a wholesale price. I still have no regrets selling mine to Nordic. I also so a bunch of gold and silver to his mother that was working the jewelry counter at the time.
|
Depending on the type of firearms they are, I might be interested.
|
Depends on the firearms they have. To go to a dealer they’ll give him a fraction what they’re worth. Where to sell them, whatever they think they’re worth. I have guns too but I tell some of my friends that I have so many guns that I painted on my roof of my house, “No Fly Zone”. I’ll keep my guns for other reasons!

guns for sale
Pawn shops will rob you will not pay nowhere what their worth. Private sales to valid concealed permit holders with a bill of sale.
|
Quote:
It helps to know what the gun is worth before bargaining with a pawn shop that would be interested in buying it because guns vary so much on make, model, condition, etc. A person would be foolish to NOT have that knowledge when selling a gun, be it to a pawn shop, gun dealer or private party. |
