They probably think they can flash a little bewbie and get a huge tip. They could be right. My secret weapon is my moobs are more impressive than any of their bewbies (in my mind), and the fact that Mrs Leroy won't let me near the place.

Years ago, a buddy of mine and I were visiting another buddy in Chicago. Lunchtime rolled around and we asked the local where we should eat. He said that a new chain called "Hooters" had opened up nearby. My other buddy asked, "How's the food?" to which the local friend answered, "Better than it has to be." We soon found out what he was talking about.

I've since eaten at Hooters a few times in different locations with different friends and I have found the following to be true:

The wait staff have always been very attractive young ladies (not sure how they don't get sued for not hiring men, older women, etc.)

The wait staff have always been really friendly and sweet (which of course is their job, but they do it very well)

The food is better than it has to be, but not really all that great in any objective sense

Other than the wait staff, they are basically a sports bar, which is great if you are into that and not so great if you aren't

Doesn't matter. Money talks. And if they have the "equipment" to generate good tips from a bunch of balding old geezers, more power to them!

It's my firm belief that we (old folks nearing the end) should focus a lot more on having fun, joking around, poking fun at ourselves and our friends than we typically do. If you have 3000 days left to live do you want to spend them angry? How about 300 days? Not me.

Sugar Daddy?

In a sports bar setting? Also what makes you think they are not holding their noses with a sugar daddy?

Have not gone often but when we have gone it has been a fun place to go.

Can somebody confirm if Villagers can redeem their 15% off ‘just for being old’ discount at Hooters! :1rotfl:

Maybe they will have a blue pill special instead of the Blue plate special. For you old guys.

Given that last month they announced they were closing or have closed Florida locations in Gainesville, Lakeland, Orange Park and West Palm Beach and 40 others nationwide, this doesn’t seem to make a lot of sense.

They know their business model better than we do.

Will be interesting to see how they fare here. Back West, Hooters seemed to have peaked in the late 90s/early 00s, and have steadily declined in the marketplace since. In Colorado, most locations closed down in the last 10 years. They must see a chance for success in TV. Time will tell.

There are people who say Hooters has very good chicken wings. I've always thought these are the same people who say they buy Playboy for the articles.

The people who make comments like this are some of the people who have never tried the Hooters chicken wings.

We often go to Hooters just for the breaded wings and curly fries.

Have not read it for years but did have some rather good ones. My wife always thought I bought it for the articles

I hear the waitresses will be women who live here in the Villages.

Never had the need or want to go there. Now that I’m older ZERO chance going there.

I've only been to Hooters when my kid was in youth hockey and the team went there for tournaments (none were close by me at that time) and then later one did open near me and I went a few times alone after my divorce.

I will say the servers were always nice, I had good service and I really like the wings, breaded or naked wings were good. Beer was good and cold. Honestly the women weren't all that scantily clad (skin colored leggings). Hell the only thing keeping me away is the reputation of being a place for the boobs. I think they are better than BWW.

Only if they want to go out of business rather quickly
