What is your favorite thing to buy at Costco?
I’m looking for some healthy choices at Costco, and maybe some that are not so healthy
What are your favorite items to buy there? Thanks for any input. |

I have a Sam's Club membership and like their steaks. If you shop at both Costco and Sam's, compare steak quality.
|
Kirklands cauliflower crust frozen pizza, Motor City pepperoni pizza, Kirklands New Zealand butter, Kirklands Smores cluster candy. Their meat chili is excellent, but it is seasonal, and no, it's not as good as your homemade, but pretty close and a lot less work.

Couldn't that create confusion if you ordered a coke in a restaurant (although you wanted Pepsi)? |

Currently, my Costco is still selling Pepsi products. |

Wider sheets Charmin toilet paper. This is sold NO WHERE ELSE and is made specifically for Costco. Believe me......the toilet paper fits better on the paper holder and doesn't move side to side so much. LOVE, LOVE, LOVE it.
Just recently started purchasing frozen Garlic Butter Shrimp. Delicious with pasta. Easy peasy to cook up for dinner. Kirkland frozen salmon (without the skin) and Kirkland frozen Tilapia Loins Phillips Crab Cakes. The crab cakes must be made per Costco's specifications. The same exact brand of crab cakes at Sam's does not have nearly as much large lump crab in them. Soft soap brand hand cleanser has lotion in it. I don't see that anywhere else. Kirkland Pecorino Romano cheese. This is the best grating cheese I have ever tasted and I'm 100% Italian. So easy to to cut shavings for a Caesar salad. YUM! Kirkland Sonoma County Chardonnay (750 ml. Don't care for the Chardonnay in the larger bottle). The wine is really good and I serve it to guests all the time and get raves about it. Kirkland olive oil Shrimp Cocktail is excellent quality and the shrimp are LARGE! And.......the shrimp don't look like they are machine made. Large container of Sunsweet prunes. Great price for the quantity. This is just the tip of the iceberg. There is plenty more we purchase at Costco. So glad we finally have one in our neighborhood. |
Cosco has a lot of healthy keto items as does Walmart. Look for the most unprocessed foods tho. I did hear their rotisserie chickens are very unhealthy. Totally shot up with antibiotics and chemicals to plump them up for mass selling. Look it up!

Quinoa and Celery Salad (Costco Copycat Recipe) Salads, Vegan Prep Time: 15 minutes | Cook Time: 15 minutes | Servings: Serving: 1 Ingredients: FOR THE SALAD: 1 cup quinoa 2 cups low sodium vegetable broth 2 cups chickpeas 4 cups kale 2 cups red cabbage 1 1/2 cups celery 1 cup shredded carrots 1/2 red onion 1/2 cup dried cranberries 1/2 cup slivered almonds APPLE CIDER VINEGAR DRESSING 1/2 cup olive oil 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar (try ⅛ cup?) 1 tablespoon dijon mustard 1 tablespoon maple syrup Salt & black pepper, to taste Directions: Add the quinoa to a fine mesh strainer and rinse well under cold running water. Transfer to a small saucepan and add the broth. Bring to a simmer, cover, and cook for 12-15 minutes or until the broth is absorbed and the quinoa is tender. Chop all of the vegetables (kale, cabbage, carrots, red onion) and add to a large salad bowl along with the cooked (and slightly cooled) quinoa and chickpeas. To make quick work of the kale and cabbage, I just pulse them in my food processor until finely chopped. Add all of the dressing ingredients to a small mixing bowl and whisk well to combine (or add to a mason jar and shake to combine). Pour the dressing over the salad and toss well to coat everything in the dressing. Serve! Tuna - in oil
Sardines - in oil Madras lentils Quinoa and brown rice - microwave it in the package for 90 seconds, then mix with any of the above and some chopped veggies for a quick easy lunch Individual packages of sticky rice - 90 seconds in the microwave and them make into rice bowls with any healthy protein or veggie Then of course wine (agree with the Kirkland Chard as a wine priced for everyday, good enough for company) Nuts Go with a friend to buy any fresh fruits or veggies, and share them because it's too much for one couple. Walk the store for some entertainment. |

Costco has a good selection of frozen, organic fruit I use for smoothies and baking.
The salmon burgers are also great - I use my air fryer and they go from frozen to ready to eat in 14 minutes. Costco is also really good for vitamins and CoQ-10 - all Kirkland brand. I also buy my bagels from Costco. |

I recall when we first moved here: I was at publix buying a few things and had purchased one of their twofers--Pepsi in the large bottles, I think. I remember commenting to the checker that "that pop is pretty good deal". The checker looked at me and grinned. "You're from the north, aren't you"? I haven't really heard the generic "coke" for any soft drink around here, except at Cracker Barrel a few times. |
Nothing, yet...

Pumpkin pie when in season
Chicken Tp Paper towels Romaine lettuce . Theirs lasts longer Wine .. love the Malbec and boxed Pizza Chicken soup in case Trout Mixed nuts Batteries Electronics often have an extra year warranty Induction range, Lg washer/ dryer are amazing when you catch a sale Clothing, bedding, area rugs Many items sell out, but you may be able to get them online. If you have any problems, call customer service. They are patient and usually get things done quickly for you. If you are on the line about a membership, have a member buy you a $25 Costco gift card. The card gets you into the store, you can shop leisurely, and when you pay, just turn in the card and pay the excess. A few big ticket items may not be available to you, but you will feel like a member for a day. |
A coke (Mountain Dew) ;-)

I actually discussed this with someone just a few days ago again the whole thing out there when the waitress says, "Would you like a coke?" And the reply, "Yeah, sure. I'll have a Pepsi." Too funny. Don't know why that's a thing, or was when I was a kid. Definitely a regional thing. Didn't know they did that in the South, too. |
We've been Costco members for a long time. Went to the new one yesterday to check it out, even though we didn't really have anything on our "standard" shopping list. Two of the treasures we walked away with: A package of 6 rib eye steaks, each about 9 ounces, that were an in-store special for $15 off. Six nice looking steaks for $45. Also grabbed a few bottles of Bordeaux that were a very good buy...a 2022 St. Emilion Grand Cru at $15.99 each. I see a few very nice dinners in our future.

I eat a lot of fish/seafood. For me it's the Kirkland frozen talapia and red tail shrimp. The talapia is sourced from ACS certified farms, which is the highest rating you can get so you know it is good quality. The red tail shrimp is some of the best I have ever eaten.
Kirkland organic salsa (probably the best store-bought salsa anywhere) Kirkland large peanuts Kirkland's organic chicken beasts. Yesterday, the organic chicken was $5 off per package. Graza or Kirkland extra-virgin olive oil Artesian Romain lettuce Kirkland toilet paper, Kleenexes, and paper towels. Dave's white bread done right Isopure protein powder I've eaten the frozen salmon patties before, which are pretty good. This time I'm trying the Kirkland frozen sockeye salmon. I used to buy their two pack of chocolate and blueberry muffins and their blueberry lemon bread, both which are amazing, but I stopped buying them because I am cut that kind of stuff from my diet. |
