Anyone see the video of Trump's speech
in Las Vegas last night? He was dropping F bombs all over the place, and the Nevada Republicans were eating it up. I'll say this for Trump, he's starting to make Sarah Palin look like a serious figure.
|
Totally uncalled for and unnecessary. If we would have been there (too many other real entertainers to go see!) we would have walked out.
I would make a bet there were more people there offended than the videos could portray. It doesn't take an R or D to determine decency!!!!! btk |
I agree completely

It sure is sad. This man has no morals. It is too bad because a good debate on politics between Dems and Reps is not only healthy but very helpful, but the crazies on both side should find another venue and let those interested have constructive exchanges.

What a bunch of Hypocrites!

If he runs, you may be surprised how well he does. I think people are sick and tired of our government and sick and tired of getting screwed all the time. The Donald probably said out laud what a lot of people are thinking.
He's no conservative but at least he puts America first unlike Obama. Would he make a good President? Not sure we could do worse than what we have now but maybe America needs a business man in the oval office who kicks !@$ and take names for a few years. Obama's never run a lemonade stand let alone an economy as large and complex as ours and it shows. |
Lassen, even the Republican Party is not stupid enough to have Trump as their candidate. They learned their lesson with Caribou Barbie and will not do anything that stupid again.
If Trump does get some 3rd party nomination, that will totally be a victory for the Democrats. Look for the Republicans to get Mitt Romney to run and Pawlenty as the VP candidate. That is a reasonable ticket that has a chance of winning. |
The Repubs will never nominate Trump and I doubt he'll run 3rd party. I do think it will be fun to watch though, especially the debates.
No matter who runs, Barack I wasn't really born here Obama will never win reelection. |
Well, here's how I see it: I like what Trump is saying, not so much how he says it. I like how Obama says it, but not so much what he's saying. I think this country is about due for substance over form. Form over substance has not been working so well for us.

Anyone see the vdeo of Trump speech
I have never been one for using bad language just never got into the habit from childhood. So seeing how the f word gets thrown around in the office on TV, etc is really is unsettling but to see it has entered into politicial discussions unforgiving. I have said that Trumps' entering the fray was going to be beneficial because he would negate this thing we call politicial correctness but he goes too far for me with such words. Frankness is one thing but bad language only translates into vulgarity. Totally unacceptble. I hope it was just a one time thing because if he doesn't he will lose his message

Funny how Bugs repeatedly uses the term "Caribou Barbie" and no one says a word. I poke a little fun at Obama and the no one says a word crowd get's bent out of shape.
But yes, Obama has zero business experience. ZERO. He doesn't know any more about growing an economy and creating private sector jobs than my 4 year old grandson. He's the least qualified in any room he's standing. Quote:
But in the long run it doesn't matter who the GOP puts up. Everyone here knows they will get ripped to shreds while Obama gets a free pass no matter how bad he devastates our economy. Heck, they are already getting ripped to shreds and no one has even announced yet. Quote:

Let's take just one--Trump proposes to tax all imports from China at a 25% rate. If anyone with even an ounce of brains thinks about that for less than a minute, they can come up with some pretty disastrous effects here in the U.S. as the result of that proposal. Even a stupid and corrupt Congress can see that. But the real question it raises is--would anyone be really comfortable with a guy in the oval office who makes such outrageous (and really stupid) proposals? Or a guy that makes such proposals while throwing the F-bomb around multiple times in a short stump speech? I wonder what "base" Trump is trying to appeal to? Whatever base it is they'd better be prepared to send him a lot of money, because I can tell you from first hand experience that Donald Trump won't gamble one thin dime of his own money running for President! |

Look I'm not a Trump guy and I doubt seriously he would be the nominee. All I'm saying is he resonates with a lot of people because they are sick and tired of our current spineless politicians and there apologize for America agenda. Trump is absolutely right when he says we are getting screwed. People want someone to stand up and say enough is enough. Trump does that. |
I Am Sure

There isn't anything that Trump has said or suggested, as good as it may sound to people, that is either doable or something that would prove effective in resolving our current problems. It's going to take a whole lot more than talk by a blowhard prospective politician, regardless of how rich he is. Unfortunately, we've reached the point that the problems we have can't be resolved without real sacrifice on the part of all of us. Things can't be "fixed" just because The Donald says we're getting screwed (suggesting that we aren't the root cause of our problems, that it's someone else). Our fiscal problem can't be solved without dramatically cutting spending and probably raising taxes. The price of gasoline won't go down until we figure out a way to stop using as much gas. Drilling more won't fix the problem. Canada knows that, they only use 2/3 of the oil they pump out of the ground and their gas is more expensive than ours. How will The Donald solve the problems of our deteriorating education system, the back-breaking escalation in the price of healthcare, our illegal immigration problem, the fact that our big cities and states are bankrupt, the fact that the U.S. is no longer an attractive place for companies to manufacture things, the problem of our disappearing middle leaving only the very wealthy and the very poor, and so on? He won't solve those problems by being the blowhard that he is. Many suggest that he'd do a better job than Barack Obama. I'm not so sure. No, in fact I AM sure--he'd make things worse! |
I do, indeed, believe Trump is right that the Chinese are laughing at us. We are funding their ability to dominate us with every "made in China" product we buy. Our markets are flooded with Chinese products because they are dirt cheap to import. Regardless how Trump's saying it, he's one of only very few in the political arena insisting that this tidal wave of imports be confronted more forcefully and more directly. I hope others, such as Chris Christie will run. I wish Marco Rubio would declare his candidacy for president. Straight talk is what a lot of us are looking for.
One of my favorite quotes is from Gerry Spence, the famous trial lawyer, he said, "Ah, the power of the honest, who will but tell us who they are and what they want." Furthermore, a Congressman during the recent budget debates said, "I'm tired of borrowing money from the Chinese to fund programs we don't need." I'll thoughtfully listen to whomever talks straight, makes sense, and clearly, deeply loves this country. |
Lunacy?
Quote:
We pay China enough in interest on what we owe them alone every day for them to afford to buy 3-1/2 F22 Raptor fighter jet planes. Shouldn't they be laughing at us? Here are just a couple of headlines speaking to what our political leaders are working on... Romney wants to ‘hang’ Obama with misery indexIs anyone in the U.S. Congress working on the real problems facing the country? Then you have The Donald barking about birth certificates and how the POTUS got into college. Then he comes up with the 25% import duty lunacy...and drops the F-bomb a bunch of times while explaining it to supporters. So you ask why the Chinese (and probably the rest of the world) is laughing at us? I've said this before, but with regard to The Donald's proposed 25% tax on all imported Chinese goods, ask yourself what would happen when all the "made in China" products sold here were increased in proice by 25%? You don't really think WalMart is going to eat the price increases due to the new duty, do you? A better question might be, what do you think would happen if the Chinese got PO'd at our new import duty and simply stopped buying our debt at the bi-weekly auctions by the Fed. Remember, we spent $39 for every $23 we receive in taxes. We borrow the rest, a whole lot of it from China. (By the way, forget about what they might do if they got mad. Think about how much of our debt they could afford to buy if we suddenly threw a rock in the gears of their economy with Trump's new import duty.) Oh yeah, if the Donald did what he proposes, federal spending would be cut all right...big time and in a hurry. Not too much time for debate on how much Medicare and Social Security benefits would be cut. Or whether we'd keep soldiers and sailors in the Middle East (or anywhere else) for very long. Or how many of a myriad of government programs and services simply couldn't exist any more? The departments of Energy, Education, HUD, Homeland Security, and on and on. And taxes? Do you think our Congress would give up all that spending without a fight? Without first raising taxes so the spending could continue? Oh boy! If you want to have some real fun, elect The Donald. But hope and pray that he can't implement his lunatic ideas. But if you like what he says and think he'd make a good President...well, I feel sorry for us. |
Products with Trump's label on them are MADE IN CHINA.
Trump was pro-choice. Trump was pro-nationalized health-care. Trump has managed to run more casinos into bankruptcy than anyone I've ever heard of. In fact, Trump makes it look like bankruptcy is, to him, considered a tool of growing a business (start company, borrow heavily to build company, declare bankruptcy to screw your creditors and keep assets, later, rinse, repeat) Trump was in favor of a LOT of things that are anathema to the GOP and Tea Party members. That is, UNTIL he saw a void that he could fill. He changed his colors like a chameleon. |

The answer, I believe, is he's speaking to the frustration and anger and fear of the future of our country and our way of life in a manner that so many have been yearning for. There are only a few politicians on the scene right now who come close, but don't have Trump's megaphone or don't choose to jump in the pool at this time. The two that come to mind is the fearless conservatism displayed by Florida Rep. Alan West and the unflinching fiscal leadership qualities of N.J. Governor Chris Christie. Trump, right now, is the only potential presidential aspirant who is basically telling the people he will dive into the mess we're in and fix what's wrong come hell or high water. Everyone is getting tired of hearing that we have to compromise and negotiate and find some middle ground in order to get even tiny changes made. People want action and Trump is the only one on the scene right now promising that. There's a lot to learn from this. |
Do the Republicans forget the time Ronnie Reagan thought the microphone was off and said 'We will begin bombing Russia in 15 minutes!"?
Definitely a big gaffe. Well, his Alzheimer's was getting worse at that time. You really can't blame Ronnie for anything he did in his second term. Nancy and her crystal ball reader were really leading the country in his second term. |
"My fellow Americans, I am pleased to tell you today that I've signed legislation that will outlaw Russia forever. We begin bombing in five minutes," Ronald Reagan August 11, 1984, warming up the mic before a radio broadcast. LOL

Anyone see the video of Trump's speech
Let's see, Obama said he he would not accept private funding for his campaign. He didn't. Obama said he would have a transparent Administration. he didn't Obama said he would cut four czars when negotiating the budget. He didn't. We could go on but to what avil. This country has been brain washed by the liberal media for so long that mnay people actually believe what Trump is saying is radical right when in fact it is what we use to call the usual discourse, absent of courge the bad lanaguage. Trump is a good business man and adept at leveraging. Is it any different than our government leveraging our tax dollars? I mean they use our funds they way they want and ignore our wishes. Liberals are going nuts about Trump's approach because they can't sop him by throwing out the "r" word, etc. Political correctness had marxist beginnings as it was effectively used to stifle freedom fighters. Obama's intent to marginalize Trump only convinces me that Trump is on the right track. And what's wrong with referring to Sarah Palin as the "caribou barbie" She is a hottie and she is a strong woman Not many could take the below the belt shots she received and keep fighting. And yes I too would welcome Rubio, Christie, Daniels and Bachmann in the fray.

I never said Trump would be able to deliver, I was only paraphrasing his message and how it resonates. The point of my post was that Trump is saying what lots of people want to hear (not that I'm buying it) and that other's should evaluate that aspect of it. You want to bash Trump and I have no problem with that, but I don't know if you're purposely trying to misrepresent what I said or are doing it unintentionally, but please refrain doing that. |

My worry is that people won't listen beyond the bullying rhetoric and could actually be swayed to vote for someone like that. My second worry is that he'd ACT like that in office and make Bush's "cowboy diplomacy" look like a United Nations confab by comparison. There are plenty of examples of demagogues who whip up popular support based on empty rhetoric. No, I won't go to 1933 but I'll take a more contemporary example. How many Middle East dictators are kept in power by whipping up anti-Israel sentiment to divert attention from their disastrous domestic policies? There are plenty in Africa as well. |
