Pizza of your choice
One thing I have noticed on TOTV is there seems to be a want/ need for a better pizza place.
If you had your choice, what type of pizza place would you like to see in or nearby TV? A particular chain pizza or a New York, Chicago, or other type? Should it be in one of the town squares? Just trying to see if they is an opportunity waiting... |
|
That is an excellent question.
I bet everyone is gonna say one from their home town. I know Donato's as a chain and I would settle for that. I miss LaRosa's from Cincinnati. I have had people rave about the one in Spanish Springs, but it doesn't taste like the Pizza I am used to. I wish a good one would deliver!! |
We got Pauly's in Spanish Springs who needs anything else?

Being at one of the Squares, or even golf cart accessible isn't that important to me. I'll get there however I have to as long as it's in the general vicinity. |

http://aureliospizza.com/ Oh WOW! I have two aunts and my Godmother from that family! Thanks for the nice surprise this morning! |
Pizza Hut. Good pizza, good price & their pasta is really good.

Marco's Pizza. Best pizza I've had since I moved to Florida from Buffalo,N.Y. Plenty of franchise opportunities with Marco's.

This is the first and probably last time I have disagreed with you. Most people do agree with you about Pauly's. It just doesn't taste like the pizza I like from Ohio. Where is Pizza Hut, Bonny? We will try that one. |
Godfather's Pizza, in Chicago.
|
I vote for Pizza Hut
Like we had in Fort Wayne. Full service, salad bar, great pasta and my favorite pizza: chicken club. The PH in Leesburg has never heard of chicken club and has no salad bar.
|
There are Pizza Huts in Leesburg, Bellview, Wildwood & Spruce Creek Shopping Plaza.
|
|
My favorite chain pizza is Papa Johns. I love the brick oven individual pizzas at Mallory and Cane.

We will be FROGS in 6 weeks and our last trip the only palatable pizza was Pauly's. We haven't gone off campus but I tried Giovannis, Bravo, Pauly's and Red Sauce.... I like pizza.....Will have to make do with what is available..... :mmmm: |
Mallory CC. Brick ovens. Great pizza. Outdoor seating overlooking golf course. You can also see the golf course from indoor seating, along with a bar and TVs.

My wife makes pizzas from scratch. Thin crust, deep dish, square, round many toppings , Napoleton, white plain, white with spinach or broccoli or asparacus.....my job is to get the choice of beverage.....:D

As a New York boy of Italian parents, I've got to say, and everyone here knows this, that it's tricky to get a good pizza here. Most places here, I've found, undercook the pizza and the crust has no bite to it.
But here's what you do. Paulie's Pizza and Bravo Pizza both have a good sauce and basically a good dough. Just ask them to cook it well done, not to burn it, but to cook it well. Trust me, you'll like it. My suggestion: Go to Bravo's Pizza in LSL; use my instructions for a well done pie. While you're waiting for your pie with you best girl or guy, they'll bring you a basket of delicious garlic knots and a red sauce dip as a free appetizer. A glass of red wine is in order if you want to kick it up a notch. It's a great way to start the festivities in the square. |
pizza
Have you tried Stavros in Leesburg? I think it's quite good.
|
I like Stavro's too.
Also like Pizza Hut. Of course, Uno's, Geno's East or Giordano's Chicago style would be awesome! |
Papa Gino's
My favorite is Papa Gino's Pizzeria, a New England based chain. Yum! Had some last night and mentioned to my hubby that it would probably be the last really good pizza before returning to TV in a couple of weeks.
We do also enjoy Pauly's and Bravo's pizza but still doesn't compare! |
Seems most pies around TV are either the flatish NY style (think Pauly's, Bravo) or the flatbread (think Urban, Mallory).
Is there anywhere that is more of a Scilian style? Not Chicago deep dish. Eons ago we used to live in RI and there was a place in N. Providence called Twins. Our favorite at that time but haven't found similar in/near TV. Help! |

We had Donatos, Iaconos, and Tommy's in Upper Arlington (Columbus Ohio suburb). All better than what we've found down here.

pizza
I think that Little Joey's is the best around The Villages and second best is Pauly's but that is just a Boston girl's vote but there is nothing like the pizza from the North End in Boiston.
|
Authentic Neapolitan Pizza
It's hard to find a good authentic Neapolitan pizza anywhere but if there's anything like anywhere in or near TV, I'm in.

We are having our 50th year HS reunion next June at the Holiday Inn in - - - Tinley Park! Do you have any family from the Bettenhausen's? . |

Someone mentioned Godfathers and I use to love it but they changed how they made the pizza years ago and I have not found it as good. I hope someone takes note of all the suggestions here and opens a new place. Pizza is obviously almost as important as golf..:mmmm: |
