Music in Golf Carts
My 2013 Yamaha EFI golf cart is in production. I am picking it up when I come down in late August. I just ordered a Radio/CD/IPOD player for it. For those who have radios in your golf cart, do you enjoy them, use them, or are they a distraction? I thought for long drives, particularly on rainy days when the sides are closed, it might be nice to have music.

We have your basic AM\FM and listen to primarily to WVLG and an FM station during the holidays. We do not find the music a distraction and it really adds to the golf cart experience. You won't be worry.

My neighbor just had one installed by Best Buy on 27/441, he drove by and I could hear it from 50' away. I haven't had a chance to check it out but he was jamming some classic rock. WIND 95.5 out of Ocala is a good station.

We have a Panosonic in our Yamaha. It is a CD/AM/FM. I love having the music and radio.

I have a gas cart and it would seem to me that a radio or cd player would be hard to hear. I use an iPod with earphones to listen to music when driving.

Where in the Villages besides Best Buy can U get a radio installed?
I live in St. James & would like to find some place closer. Are there any private individuals who do this as a p.t. side job? |

I'm no expert, in this area, but I believe there is a filter that could be installed on the radio that would prevent this electrical interference. Cheers.... |

Advance Golf Car, near CR-101 will do just about anything you want on a golf car, including an in-dash radio.
If you're looking for something inexpensive that you can do yourself, Amazon sells the Sangean PR-D7 AM/FM digital rechargeable portable radio, in either black or white for $55, plus the cost of rechargeable batteries approx $15. We attached the radio to the roof of our golf cart with velcro and a nylon cable tie for insurance. Once every two weeks or so we recharge the radio in place overnight when recharging the golf cart. There are more expensive radio solutions but this is all you need if you want a radio quickly and cheaply without creating a theft magnet with something more elaborate. |

I have a AM/FM/XM/CD with an input for an I-phone/ Ipad or Ipod. Cherie and I plug in her Ipad and stream music from her Pandora stations. Love it. We have gone to the park on the Lake Sumter bridge to watch the sunsets and listen to soothing music. A little wine and you have set a romantic mood. :icon_wink:
