Ryan popular?
A USA/Gallup poll reveals that Paul Ryan is the second least popular choice for VP ever, bested only by Dan Quayle....Dan Quayle.

Obama received his Christmas gift a bit early this year .....

I'm beginning to warm up to him. He seems to have inspired Mr. Romney to grow a set too. Wow, we may actually have a real race now.
|
all we need now is for the other side to get up out of the gutter and start talking about issues that matter to Americans for America.
At some point Obama will have to make some noise about the economy and jobs and energy independence for starters. The last three years on these subjects have not fared well at all....no change and no hope so far. btk |
At some point Willard will have to release more tax returns.
Releasing part of one return and an estimated return for another year means he definitely is hiding something. Willard has not released any complete tax returns. |
and that would help the economy and jobs and energy independence.....how?
You know how these things work.......the tax issue for Romney will wind up about as significant as Jeramiah Wright ended up being for Obama. btk |
This quote is from Bill Clinton's Chief of Staff, Erskine Bowles, ONE year ago...
"“Have any of you all met Paul Ryan? We should get him to come to the university. I’m telling you this guy is amazing. ... He is honest, he is straightforward, he is sincere. And the budget that he came forward with is just like Paul Ryan. It is a sensible, straightforward, serious budget and it cut the budget deficit just like we did, by $4 trillion. … The president as you remember, came out with a budget and I don’t think anybody took that budget very seriously. The Senate voted against it 97 to nothing." Cut This Ad! Clinton COS on Ryan: |

Congressman Paul Ryan will be traveling to central Florida next week-end to explain his cuts to Medicare to seniors. |
I think it is quite obvious to any thinking person that Romney has basically conceded the loss of Florida to the Obama team for November. Wow, that is 29 electoral votes down the drain for Romney!
|
The CBO estimated that one version of Ryan's plan, passed by the House last year, would increase retirees' out-of-pocket medical costs by about $6,400 annually.

seems to me that not being popular might be more of a benefit to us that obama was/is! |

For me, personally, as long as this country faces the fact that these things ARE GOING to need to be addressed, if that cost votes, so be it. I am an american first, and I KNOW we need to do these things as does Obama. He just will not talk about it and cost votes. Soo.perhaps you are right...I assume you do know that the Ryan plan, and again, it is a plan, not carved anywhere...but anyway, you do know I assume that it will not, can not affect anyone in the country over 55 ? I assume you know that and I assume you have read the economists read on the future of these plans and know that his is based on facts that are not disputable at all. If it cost votes and people get a real idea of what is going on, that is fine with me. Must surprise you that I feel that way, but this country is in deep financial trouble and it must be addressed and will need to be addressed. Votes you can recover later.....our financial doom is a one time thing. |

and take a gander at this link: Direction of Country do you think the same folks participated in each of the polls cited by each of our links? do you think the people who believe the country is headed in the wrong direction are going to vote, much less when they do vote are going pull a lever for obama/biden whom they think are leading the country astray? please explain the rationale where if one believes that the current administration is leading the country in the wrong direction, how can they be expected to enter a voting booth and vote for the people responsible for doing so? |

Oh, and only show and talk about polls when they are good for your guy.... This may not seem like it is good for the country, but......discussing the actual issues facing us is simply a waste of time. |
|
This may explain the obvious push to ignore anything that vaguely is close to issues from certain posters on here.
"If this year's election is going to be decided on the basis of hard facts, the Obama administration is doomed. But the Obama campaign is well aware of that, which is why we are hearing so many distracting innuendoes and outright lies about such peripheral issues as what Mitt Romney is supposed to have done while running Bain Capital -- or even what is supposed to have happened at Bain Capital, years after Mitt Romney was long gone." The Paul Ryan Choice | RealClearPolitics I suppose that this from the same article explains the now need to defame Ryan instead of talking about issues... " Anyone who wants to get a quick sense of who Paul Ryan is should watch a short video of a February 2010 meeting in which Congressman Ryan politely, but devastatingly, "schools" Barack Obama on the utter fraudulence of the statistics that the Obama administration was using to claim that ObamaCare would reduce the deficit. That video is available on the Drudge Report. As a long-time member, and now chairman, of the Budget Committee in the House of Representatives, Paul Ryan is thoroughly familiar with both the facts and the fictions in the federal government's budget. In recent years, the fictions have grown much bigger than the facts. But, as Congressman Ryan reminded the president, hiding spending is not the same as reducing spending." Oh I cannot wait until the debates !!!!!!! |
You guys couldn't wait for debates the last time around as well.

I might add, for what it is worth, is that both McCain and Romney have not only avoided but turned down tons of money to pursue the character issue...just for what it is worth, but again.....lets talk about ISSUES |

When is either side going to bring up illegal immigration? Mr. Ryan is suppose to be a numbers whiz kid. How much does illegal immigration cost the taxpayers? You want hear it. |
HAVE any you actually read what Ryan has proposed and what the Affordable Health care law actually proposes or are you just jumping to conclusions to come on here and try to destroy a single man.
BOTH...Obama and Ryan...and remember, Ryan s budget is simply a plan and not fact....the Health care plan is LAW !! They both strive to do the same exact thing in different ways and instead of discussing the ways, you folks pull out the verbal arms and just take shots. No wonder this country is screwed up....tell me how the polls are doing...that seems to be the most important thing in your lives. Read something...learn something. You must expand your library instead of reading just one viewpoint....I read Obama and I read Ryan...the only two differences are that they seek the same thing in two different manners and one is law and one is simply a proposal ! HINT.....Obama's plan seeks more efficiency in how providers are reimbursed, while Ryan is focused on seniors having more choices in how they pay for health care, allowing the free market to drive down costs and lessening the taxpayer's burden. And one is law and the other is a proposal....please please read something other than the sites that feed your ego or whatever it is....read what the other guy is saying also....almost like LISTENING ! |
And have you seen any of this on your tweets, blogs or sites....
"s Democrats attack Mitt Romney and Paul Ryan for their proposals regarding Medicare, Republicans are circulating this clip from a November 9, 2009 interview we had with President Obama in which he not only acknowledged that one third of his health care bill was paid for by cuts to Medicare, but that he would veto attempts to undo those cuts." President Obama in 2009 Pledged to Veto Attempts to Undo Medicare Cuts - ABC News It really is different when faced with facts !!! |
He will not help Romney. Conservatives know from his votes in favor of tarp, auto bailout, raising the debt ceiling, increased budgets etc, which are contrary to his "conservative" speeches, that nothing will change with him or Romney. They Paul Ryan "extreme" budget does not balance until 2040.. THATS 28 years from now!! They may not vote or will vote for a third party candidate.
People who are against Romney from the left will surely not change their vote. Those on the Right who disagree with Obama enough would vote for anyone no matter what the vp stands for. The Ryan choice will shift the debate to the budget, but the Repubs will never ever do the tough political things (like drastically cut the military and social programs) to save the nation from bankruptcy. The president can say whatever he wants while trying to get votes, but he KNOWS that medicaire has to be gotten under control...he knows it must be cut. But while you might be right..hopefully someday we get over the calling name stuff and actually debate ways to get our financial house in order |
I think the rabid left is at their funniest on this thread. I can't believe how much their venom betrays their fear of a true blue honest American conservative.
I say that in 2 months time you guys are going to be spewing excuses instead of venom. Take note. |
I heard a very accurate quip by representative Ken Blackwell from Ohio when asked about the dems relentless attacks on Ryan.
He said "dogs do not chase parked cars"!!!!!! Ryan is definitely viewed as a significant threat to Obama and the dems agenda!!!! btk |

"Liberal pundits are already fanning out in force to attack and discredit Paul Ryan. Michael Tomasky, who recently wrote a Newsweek cover story calling Mitt Romney a “wimp,” has now decided that Romney’s bold move is “a terrible choice” because Ryan has proven himself to be an extremist on budget issues.
No doubt there are many Democrats rubbing their hands in glee in contemplation of reviving some version of the ad that featured an actor playing Paul Ryan pushing a grandmother in a wheelchair off a cliff. But the smarter ones are worried." Smart Democrats Should Be Worried - By John Fund - The Corner - National Review Online |
I'm one of the dumber ones. Don't worry, be happy!

Why not post more of that Rasmussen poll stuff? It is always good for a laugh!

Today, Romney and Ryan will be overshadowed by the Dream Act.

Ryan Popular
Well I'm a little worked up now as I live in Wisconsin, I'm a Republican, I know Paul Ryan and all I can say is "Just Watch and Learn".... and please stop all these untrue scare tactics about Medicare. Read his budget proposal and then speak. He actually has a plan to bring economic recovery to our country.
