Worst movie you have ever seen.

Someone mentioned that I should do a poll on the Top Ten Worst US released movies. There have been so many of these over the years. Gigli certainly comes to mind as does Showgirls and any number of Uwe Boll movies. Also Battlefield Earth. I would have a hard time getting a list up because of how differently some peope would view bad movies. Something considering awful by one person might be a movie so bad it is very good.

OldDave 02-01-2013 03:14 PM

Hmm, really good question. I am thinking of movies I've walked out of:

Reds - Long and boring

Pay it Forward - You make a cute little boy a hero in a feel good story and kill him!!!!

And virtually anything with Sylvester Stallone.

I looked at a couple of lists on line of "bad movies". To my mind most of them were things like Ed Wood movies, or really cheesy sci-fi movies. Thing is, when something is that bad you kind of have to watch it, kind of like a car wreck.

How bout Midnight Cowboy

This is not the worse movie, but my worse experience with a movie.

I was on a commercial flight from NY to FL back in the '70 and before boarding I was looking forward to putting on the ear piece and watching a movie to kill some time. When the movie started I sank in my seat. They were playing Mel Brooks Silent Movie. Not only were the ear piece useless but just my luck that I was seated back far enough that I couldn't read the captions on the screen! Loved the flight but hated the movie experience!

Gotta go with The Exorcist...

Here's a list I found:

The Top 100 Worst Movies of All Time - Flickchart

I am happy to report that I didn't see any of them. Please note that Gigli is rated # 1.

Probably seen half of these. Some of them at Villages theaters too. At least, the ones that came out after the Summer of 2005. Uwe Boll has a lot of entries as Director.

2BNTV 02-01-2013 05:45 PM

Mine was Chicago as I fell asleep.

I guess Catherine Zeta-Jones and Renee Zellwegger weren't pretty enough. :boom:

At least they each other to talk to. :1rotfl:

Seriously, I can't think of a particular movie as I am not a regular movie goer.

I have to nominate this one that's just coming out this week-end..."A Shot to the Head" with Sylvester Stallone. Talk about your bad timing.

The timing is a little bad with that one. Sylvester Stallone supports assault weapon ban - CBS News

Syriana

My wife and I went with some friends and after the movie was over we all walked out, looked at each other and said "What was that all about?"

That was one creepy movie. One nasty winter my boss at the time suggested I rent this "fabulous" movie and curl up in front of the fire and hybernate. I did. I had previously thought her pretty darn weird, but this proved it.

Or else she had it out for me and wanted to ruin my weekend.

Other than that, I hated that movie with the "pod" people floating around in a swimming pool. Can't remember the name, but it was out about the time ET was. The kids loved it, so I had to sit through it.

The Piano was very strange. The Pianist was quite good. It is the one about the Nazi collaborator. The Piano is the Harvey Keitl movie where he falls in love with a preteen.

Okay, I meant The Piano.

Actually, it was the mother who played mute that Keitel character fell in love with in The Piano. It was a rather odd movie.

Dances with Wolves. How many scenes of buffalo roaming the plains can they fit into a three hour movie that should have been cut to about 75 minutes.

That's kind of a strange choice, personally, I loved Dances With Wolves. One of my supervisors at the U of MN Law Library was enamored of the Lakota people and language. She was ecstatic when it won Best Picture.

Solaris is the worst movie I found associated with George Clooney. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/celebrity/george_clooney/ It made a little more sense after watching the Russian movie of the same name. You needed Cliff Notes to understand the Clooney version though. http://www.rottentomatoes.com/m/solaris/

I stand ready to be slammed for this, but I was bored to tears with Star Wars.

J.J. Abrams is set to direct the 7th Star Wars film. Maybe, this one will be more interesting for you. http://www.deadline.com/2013/01/j-j-...ie-for-disney/

Yes, another vote for Dances with Wolves. The guy I went with fell asleep and was snoring within a few minutes, he woke about 2 hours into it and said "Oh, this is an Indian movie!".

That's really funny, Patty55. Kind of like calling Slumdog Millionaire a game show movie.

Of the Oscar winners for Best Picture over the past 25 years or so, I was not that impressed with Shakespeare in Love. The actors seem to have the most votes with respect to which films get the Academy Awards in certain categories, so they must have really liked Shakespeare in Love.

Suppose it is because he is talented, handsome, articulate and does not take his celebrity that seriously except for when fighting for causes he believes in like stopping the violence in Darfur.

2BNTV 02-03-2013 08:46 AM

I remember seeint The American with George Clooney while in TV. The movie was barely comprehenable. Definitely makes the list of not worth seeing although I didn't walk out.

I did not like The American that much either. None of his movies though would I say were among the worst I have seen. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Clooney
