Dog poop

To the owner of the dog who left there dog poop in one of the path's way's of the Charolette mail boxes ,maybe you should think about a pig.

Mack184 04-05-2013 07:28 PM

Dear GOD!! Here we go again!!!! Please refer to any of the million-plus other threads about canine excrement.

D&Lsunfun 04-05-2013 07:37 PM

also, the packages left at the tamarind grove mail box area, since when is this a
dog park. no one wants to smell your dogs poop while being at the mail boxe or near the pool.

Happinow 04-05-2013 07:53 PM

Yuck

Sorry, I gotta chime in on this one......there was dog poop on the walkway in Colony Plaza right where everyone walks in front of the stores. How gross.

Yes there are a million threads on this topic because dog owners continue to not give a rip about the rest of us. I wish they could be fined. But, that probably won't stop them either. They will continue to allow their little darlings to spread their excriment. There is bound to be a million and one threads too.

I would respectfully suggest that it isn't ALL dog owners, but a few "bad apples" that are dirty and disrespectful. Most pet owners find it deplorable if people don't clean up after their pets. And most dog owners do give a rip about their neighbors.

George Bieniaszek 04-05-2013 10:08 PM

Funny. My wife and I were just talking about inventing a reverse invisible fence. When a property owner sees a dog on their property taking care of business, the property owner would press a remote like opening your garage door instead it would zap the dog owner!!!

Looking for entrepreneurs as business partners to bring this device to market!!

HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA

As long as it doesn't hurt the innocent dog, I'm all for it!

mfp509 04-06-2013 05:08 AM

Unfortunately, it is those irresponsible dog owners who give the rest of us a bad name. I absolutely detest these people who do this because it is inexcuseable.

mulligan 04-06-2013 06:17 AM

Sorry about the reverse invisible fence thing, folks. The taser has been around for a while.

Cedwards38 04-06-2013 06:19 AM

I think we all just have to find the courage to call people out on this when we see it happening, and expect an indignant response. But who cares? The few do mess it up for the many of us who love our dogs and clean up after them.

gomoho 04-06-2013 07:44 AM

I also take issue with "all dog owners" 'cause I have 2 very large ones and would challenge you to ever, ever catch me not picking up their stuff. Seems to be a hot topic that may be a result of the overflow of visitors the past few weeks that may not be picking up as they should. Darn visitors - dogs pooping everywhere, children strapped in like golf clubs in their carts - when will it stop!!!!

ladila2 04-06-2013 08:10 AM

Just turn the lawn sprinklers on...that'll stop them!

By the time we got to the sprinkler buttons they would be gone! I've decided to give The Villages a new motto.....instead of "The Villages, the Healthiest Town....or The Villages, the Friendliest Town.....it should be......The Villages, The Place For Dogs." There are more dogs than people here.

BogeyBoy 04-06-2013 08:40 AM

Another thought - and no, I am not trying to defend dog owners who do not pick up the poop.

There are many wild animals around TV, sightings have been mentioned here on TOTV. When they do their business there is no "owner" to pick it up.

You took the words right out of my keyboard :beer3:

gomoho 04-06-2013 08:54 AM

:confused:Well I guess that brings up the age old question "DOES A BEAR POOP IN THE WOODS" or just The Villages?!?!?!?

dmorhome 04-06-2013 09:19 AM

wild animals

wild animals do not bag it and accidentlly drop it in the gutter or side walk.

Barefoot 04-06-2013 09:21 AM

The Villages is known as a pet friendly community. That's why we moved here. It's the only retirement community we could find that allows two dogs per household without size restrictions. I think people who dislike dogs have to be cognizant of that fact when they choose The Villages.

What a shame there are irresponsible people who fail to clean up after their pets. There is no excuse for that behavior. Or for people who go through stop signs or drive drunk or throw cigarette butts on golf courses or leave their grocery carts in the middle of the parking lot or .......... It's a darn shame there are disrespectful people in TV who impact the rest of us. Thank Heavens 99% of the people in TV are kind, friendly, clean and considerate of others.

It is true there are most that pick up after their dogs. We like dogs and cant blame the dogs for their owners. The issue we have with it in discussions and sitings are even the ones that believe it is STILL ok to even use someone else's yard or public areas for their dog toilet. It is even more prevalent at dusk or night when they go out For their last time. We call them stealth poopers. Lol. Go to a dog park, or use your own yard. Walk around your yard/area until your dog is ready to go. We have seen where neighbors have a good size yard, but take their dog to the public area to go purposely. Why? What is wrong with their yard? Some of the corner yards look awful from the dog urine . Yes, it happens a lot in front of anyone. But enough said. Amazing the self-centered, selfish ones that think other's properties or public mail areas are ok for their dog because "the dog has to go somewhere". There... I feel better. Ahhhh

rubicon 04-06-2013 09:53 AM

Some of you may take this lightly but people are finding dog poop on the golf courses, around postal stations , etc. There are a number of dogs roaming free. If it is not dealt with immediately and swiftly it is only going to get worse. Dog owners please keep it at home

We need dog ambassadors. Perhaps they can be an offshoot of community watch?:swear:

Dog free Village

Just a thought: I've said this to friends and strangers---there is something for everybody in TV! BUT.....all this time I've been wrong. No dog free village. Just a thought----if a particular Village was designated as "dog free" (0wners/guests not allowed dogs) ----how fast would the homes sell?? Yep, then there would be something for everyone! :beer3:

graciegirl 04-06-2013 10:03 AM

I have to agree, that dog was smarter then her.

gomoho 04-06-2013 02:32 PM

Rubicon - what specific courses are you finding dog poop on? I have never found dog poop on a course, but plenty of cigarette and cigar butts. Have never seen or smelled dog poop at our mail station and see plenty of folks taking their pups their for a walk, and where are all these dogs running free - never witnessed that one either.

That is what I think everytime I read that, umm which is often.

How could we survive without a little humor, a little ice cream, and a few furry friends?

Dogs and cats aren't for everybody, but I personally seem to always drift toward those who have them in their lives. They always seem so kind and nice.

I have absolutely NEVER seen a dog roaming around free anyplace I've gone in TV. Please post the instances you have seen, how many, and where.

I have, however, heard lots of coyotes out on our walks. Maybe you are mistaking one for the other.

TV must have the most coddled dogs in the US. People spend $$$$$ on their care. Nobody is going to let a dog out to roam.

paulandjean 04-06-2013 04:19 PM

Thank You everyone for the PM you have sent me,regarding the dog eating the ice cream,so many of you have such great sense of humor. Thanks again

i believe the point of the "dear god million plus" post is to get the few indiffernt dog owners to read... not sure how often if ever they search about this actual villiage problem they create...

BTW, just curious do you feel the same about multiple post regarding health, town squares, snowbird post too? should everyone just search before posting...

so to the original poster... you did the right thing.. don't worry about the dog owners cooking their pop corn now

Enough already...stick to the topic or don't post.

Dogs Running Loose

[QUOTE=CFrance;655014]I have absolutely NEVER seen a dog roaming around free anyplace I've gone in TV. Please post the instances you have seen, how many, and where.

2 Occasions just this last week.

On Bradford Loop this past week, man walking 2 dogs on a leash and a 3rd large dog running ahead of him all over everyones property as he pleased. Neighbor challenged him about the loose dog and in his flowers and he called the neighbor a vulgar name.

This past week wife and I walking and came thru the outside recreation area of Captivia Recreation Center just after dusk when 2 large black dogs came running across the Corn Toss area directly at us and growling. Owners were standing in yard behind shrubs, luckily they retreated after I yelled at them. Owners made no effort to apologize.

I can introduce you to these owners if you still do not believe this is true.
