Boxer/Lab Mix, Older, In Need of Loving Home
 

Beautiful female Boxer/Lab mix found wandering in Summerfield. She is approx. 8 yrs, tan color, spayed, no chip, very sweet personality, and is being held in veterinarian's facility for a short time until someone claims her or offers her a loving home. Wow... what a beautiful dog. She has that smooth coat that I like (less shedding). Her eyes look a little sad but a forever home would fix that. She will make someone a beautiful companion.

She is just as beautiful inside. She is gentle with adults, children, other dogs, cats, and is gentle and loving and does have soulful eyes.

Bump for this doggie who needs a forever home.

OMG! I know that dog! She was on a high speed highway when I passed by the other day and I went back to try to get her in the car. She ran into horse farms and I followed her in the car. She almost got kicked by a horse and scooted under the fence just in time.
I knocked on the nearest door and notified the equine folks, who spread it around the neighborhood because none of us could catch her.
I'm soooooo glad she is safe. I made a vow years ago to never pass a stray that I might help after I passed on on the way to work and saw it dead on the roadside going home.

Update on "Baby", getting her vet stuff done tomorrow with donated funds. Possibly, a foster home....

Okay - Update - We now have someone who has offered to foster Baby until such time that a loving person with a loving home decides this dog would be a match made in heaven and all persons who have been instrumental in getting the word out about Baby's dilemma are in agreement to this adoption. I want to thank all those who have contacted me with their words of comfort and support and offer to assist in helping to defray the cost of Baby's heartworm test, rabies/distemper/bordatela immunizations. Hurray!! Baby has a foster home! Sandi does small animal rescue as a non-profit and when she met Baby, the small animal label went out the window. I have looked this dog in her beautiful, longing eyes, and she has the soul to please an owner.
Sandi describes her as sweet, loving, well-behaved, personable. what else would a boxer/lab be but a lover?

Please spread the word if you have other ideas or networks for the adoption of dogs. Baby will make you better!

Our beautiful Boxer/Lab mix, Baby, was placed in foster care today in a boarding kennel that is operated by a very caring individual who has so often stepped up to the plate for us. Baby's immunizations have been brought up to date; however, her heartworm test proved positive, so, another cost, she will be on medication for another 6 months but the prognosis is very bright and it does not appear that she is symptomatic in any way. She continues to steal everyone's heart and has just totally endeared her to mine. Please spread the word that this precious dog is wonderful with dogs/cats, children, and adults, great on leash, and would absolutely be comfortable and would love sharing a home of either large or small family. Baby is the love of all. The owner of the Boarding Kennel who is fostering has fallen deeply in love with her as have we all. Baby's medical and food bill is $75 to date and yes donations are greatly appreciated. Right now it is only myself and a dear friend that are committed to paying the bills. Others have offered but nothing has materialized.

My Friend and I are planning on donning a harness with writing "Adopt Me" on Baby one day this week and walk her around near Pet Smart mall. We'll see. I will do anything to help locate her a new family.

can you post a mailing address for donations? Count me in...

PLEASE let me know when you are going to take her to Pet Smart area. I really want to look in those beautiful eyes and give her a hug.

I am a foster volunteer with Maxs Pet Connection small dog rescue that is a nonprofit, no kill group who are at Pet Smart every Sat. However, I rescued this dog privately along with a dear friend because a dear Veterinarian asked if I could help and my group was bombed with doggies right now and there was no volunteer available to welcome Baby. Her next stop would have been to one of the shelters and they do not have the most admirable records. Soooo, this is where I am now - I may end up taking Baby as a foster if the Kennel where she is currently staying becomes full during the holiday. I have two dogs of my own and at any given time I often have two or more additional babies. These beloved creatures need our help, love, committment, and voice. Hey Sandi, do you have pix of Baby meeting Emma at Petsmart?
I was blown away that Emma immediately wanted to play with Baby. rare..she usually treats dogs as dogs who have all their issues, and ignores them while she plays with people.

Her immediate rapport with Baby let me know that Emma considers Baby to be well-behaved, trustworthy and fun.

The meeting between Baby and Emma was beautiful and, unfortunately, I didn't take pictures. But luckily, Carol did take pictures and she is going to email them to you.

Carol has arranged with a friend who manages a Rescue, to have Baby on Pet Finder as a favor and we expect a big response. She spent last night with me and my two dogs and she wanted to play with my little Pug, LilyMing, but Lily wasn't having any part of that. What Baby needs is a dog like Emma, her size, and it would complete her life. Thx again for your generosity.
