Now you can understand why I posted two days ago that I do not trust anyone that never drinks. Zero alcohol fogs the brain.

I have thought that a computer should have a breath-a-lyzer hooked to it so emails or postings could be delayed for a few hours if tipsy.

BettyCrocked 10-02-2013 02:52 PM

I think some folks should be required to get tipsy before posting.

Buggy, your post clearly shows that you use your head for something other than a hat rack. Thanks for the intelligent addition to this thread.

graciegirl 10-02-2013 02:54 PM

I don't drink. I tried for years and never could get it right. I always ended up thinking I was smarter and prettier and younger than I actually was. I stopped.

For my high, Sweetie kisses me.

Wow, Gracie, for those reasons, I would increase my drinking.

But you are smarter, prettier, and younger than you actually are

I agree, but sometimes I like to think I am still young, hot, skinny and rugged built and have all the girls chasing me.

I know I am. I am a man and weight 185 lbs. just because I am only 5' 5" makes me under tall not over weight.

Frankly I sometimes wonder what some posters have been smoking and/or snorting! Or possibly they are off their prescribed meds. Who knows?

Or in need of a stiff drink?

You go girl.

Golfingnut 10-02-2013 03:34 PM

Drinking at the club or square is like adding salt to a baked potato. Without it, it is still OK, but with it, it is better.

The drunker I sit here... the longer I get.

Jim 9922 10-02-2013 07:55 PM

Sorry, IMHO drinking, smoking, and drugs are not something that should be made fun of or glamorized. I've seen too much human (and otherwise) hurt, damage, waste, and cost from all of them!chilout

DandyGirl 10-02-2013 08:01 PM

Party Pooper.

Have to agree with JIM9922....drinking, while made light of often, is not funny at all. The deaths it causes by auto accidents, violence while under the influence, etc is astronomical.

It actually bothers me watching ballgames and seeing young fathers with their sons gulping the beer making it ok for the kid.

I know it is made light of on here and other places, but if the first thing you need is a drink...well, just think about it. Maybe a party pooper but NEEDING a drink is a bit scary dont you think ? If you are unable to enjoy yourself except for a few under your belt, then perhaps there are other problems to be addressed.

PammyJ 10-02-2013 09:03 PM

We are having a TOTV "Happy Hour" on Saturday Golfingnut! Location will most likely be Evan's Prarie. Hope you can come!Doug and I will be having a few drinks! Don't worry, only the fun people come, drinkers or not! You can be yourself!

kittygilchrist 10-02-2013 09:04 PM

I think this thread has gone way off topic when you are talking about drunk killing and OP was only saying when I've had a couple my posts are a bit different. The thread has nothing to do with the notion that "I like to get drunk and then drive and kill people with a car or some other way I can be violent." Why such hyperbole?

DougB 10-02-2013 09:07 PM

Some just love a soapbox

kittygilchrist 10-02-2013 09:14 PM

I've got the totv La Fiesta 7 pm Saturday in my sights as a target.

EEK! edited...the totv event is changed to 5pm at evans prairie...

It was clear, some just crave any opportunity to pee on another mans camp fire. I should have used the word moderation instead of "a few". I am happy to say that those posters that constantly find fault in others is down to a small number from years past on TOTV. Admittedly, I was one of the worst, but because of the efforts of ADMIN and MONITORS, I try my best to see the glass as half full. I am amazed at how much better I feel when being upbeat rather than negative. I don't think anyone wishes to be a grouchy.

Microcodeboy 10-03-2013 05:26 AM

Well, if it makes me think I am smarter and younger, I am all for that. Where is the rum again? Does it help the memory, too?

mulligan 10-03-2013 05:31 AM

Just to eliminate some of the negativity here, I'm going to drink water, eat lettuce (organic of course ), and drive a wood fueled golf cart.

Microcodeboy 10-03-2013 05:31 AM

After reading this, I need a drink. Awww crap. It is too early...

It's five o'clock somewhere...

Bonny 10-03-2013 07:29 AM

Yep, I'm a Parrot Head ! It's always 5:00 Somewhere. Woo Hoo !
I do try to watch what I post at night. I tend to get a little wordy. Then I wake up in the morning and say "Wow, I typed all of that !"
Love my happy hour ! :pepper2:

Bucco 10-03-2013 07:43 AM

Just need to respond to those who feel that I "need a soapbox", etc.

I, however, have seen death caused by "just one little drink".....and I refer you to all the posts that mention how it makes them feel differently. That should point out why some of us "soap box" types have concerns about drinking.

Can nobody have fun drinking a soda ?

No more "soap box", but recognize you ARE IN FACT diminishing your thought process with one drink...ONE. I choose not to do that, and I choose to offer to young people at every chance to learn how to enjoy yourself with no artificial assistance, and to be careful with those who need to do that.

I do not criticize those who drink....I, as was the intent of my post and others, find fault with a joke being made of the direct cause of a death of someone close to me...not speaking of DRUNK driving..one drink, as all of you are admitting, will affect your brain. Do we really need help to enjoy ourselves ?

Sorry for "soap boxing" and will get out of your way

Microcodeboy 10-03-2013 07:48 AM

Wow!

Don't let the minority ruin your party. The Villages is known as a community with social seniors that daily fill the many many bars, sporting happy smiling faces and having a wonderful time sipping on their favorite alcohol beverage. Complaining about drinking by Villagers is just silly and yes, it is done by those needing a soapbox.
