Tornado Watch

My weather radio alarm just went off. Says we are under a tornado watch.

Tal, don't know but does it really matter? I guess not like earthquakes that are wide spread. I guess no DDRR today, huh.

Re: Tornado Warning

A tornado "watch" means that conditions exist for the possible development of a tornado.

A tornado "warning" means go to cover - now.

There is a difference in the two. Where I live, we get a little too jaded over the tornado "watch" warnings. It means to stay aware.

a green sky? hail? debris ahead of the storm? -These may be signs that a tornado is coming. We have had a couple of them in our area over the years, and we have had to head for cover, but we have never heard one on its path. They say it sounds like a train.

If you are not familiar with tornadoes, you may want to Google around a bit and learn more about what to watch out for and what to do.

Tal,

I always think of you as our resident librarian and I see you are on here. Is there a really good site to link people to so they can learn about tornadoes? Knowledge is power.

Thanks.

Re: Tornado Warning

Don't panic. Chances are the warnings will come and go with nothing happening.

Oh Muncle,
Thank you for helping me try to help these people. - love the white horse.

Hope2b, Please do not say "warning" if it is just a "watch" - really - poor Kathie is already in the closet. I am wondering if she has pulled her mattress over on top of herself. Hang in there, Kathie.

Tony, Tony, Tony,
County lines? C'mon. Throw 'em a rope willya?
