It all comes down to the "once legal" ballot just who wins the elections and it seems that our country is forever lost. If you believe in Christmas, The American Flag, having a Mother "and" a Father to raise your great grandchildren and making "eligible" people at least try to get off free programs as well as recognize that other countries shouldn't dictate our laws and or beliefs....then please vote. Let's hope "this time" the dead don't come back to life in the Voting polls

It's a shame, we no longer have a political forum, where we could adequately debate your points.

Everyone should exercise their right to vote tomorrow, no matter your political convictions.

You see it as clearly as I do. Those of us who understand where we came from and what made our country the greatest in the history of the world MUST get out and vote. Those who base their voting on what "feels and sounds" good, while they certainly have the right to vote, if they ignore the facts and vote on their feelings, and more of them go to the polls than we thinkers, then we are in trouble. If more "feelers" than "thinkers" vote tomorrow our country, as we have come to love and respect her, could be permanently lost. There may be no way to recover. We are teetering on the edge right now.

PLEASE, all who really understand, VOTE!!

I just forgot, this is not a political forum.

The day of reckoning will be defined by those that win the election. In that regard there will be no loser(s).

The real losers will again be those who just don't the interest in helping to direct this country where it should be going.

HEAVEN AND HELL

While walking down the street one day a Corrupt Senator (redundant) was tragically hit by a car and died.

His soul arrives in heaven and is met by St. Peter at the entrance.

"Welcome to heaven," says St. Peter. "Before you settle in, it seems there is a problem. We seldom see a high official around these parts, you see, so we're not sure what to do with you."

"No problem, just let me in," says the Senator.

"Well, I'd like to, but I have orders from the higher ups. What we'll do is have you spend one day in hell and one in heaven. Then you can choose where to spend eternity."

"Really?, I've made up my mind. I want to be in heaven," says the Senator. I'm sorry, but we have our rules."

And with that, St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell.

The doors open and he finds himself in the middle of a green golf course. In the distance is a clubhouse and standing in front of it are all his friends and other politicians who had worked with him.

Everyone is very happy and the ladies are in evening dress. They run to greet him, shake his hand, and reminisce about the good times they had while getting rich at the expense of the people. They played a friendly game of golf and then dine on lobster, caviar and the finest champagne.

Also present is the devil, who really is a very friendly guy who is having a good time dancing and telling jokes. They are all having such a good time that before the Senator realizes it, it is time to go. Everyone gives him a hearty farewell and waves while the elevator rises.

The elevator goes up, up, up and the door reopens in heaven where St. Peter is waiting for him, "Now it's time to visit heaven...

So, 24 hours passed with the Senator joining a group of contented souls moving from cloud to cloud, playing the harp and singing. They have a very good time and, before he realizes it, the 24 hours have gone by and St. Peter returns.

"Well, then, you've spent a day in hell and another in heaven. Now choose your eternity."

The Senator reflects for a minute, then he answers: "Well, I would never have said it before, I mean heaven has been delightful, but I think I would be better off in hell."

So St. Peter escorts him to the elevator and he goes down, down, down to hell...

Now the doors of the elevator open and he's in the middle of a barren land covered with waste and garbage. He sees all his friends, dressed in rags, picking up the trash and putting it in black bags as more trash falls from above.

The devil comes over to him and puts his arm around his shoulders.

"I don't understand," stammers the Senator. "Yesterday I was here and there was a golf course and clubhouse, and we ate lobster and caviar, drank champagne, and danced and had a great time. Now there's just a wasteland full of garbage and my friends look miserable. What happened?"*

The devil smiles at him and says,

"Yesterday we were campaigning, Today, you voted.."*

So, to vote "correctly" I have to believe in Christmas, the American flag, two-parent families. Guess I shouldn't vote. I believe everyone has the right to choose their religion and their God or no God if that is how they lean. I adopted my daughter as a single parent. I have gay friends who have children via adoption, surrogacy, in vitriol fertilization. I believe in America but the flag is simply a symbol. I respect our flag. I love our country.

Sorry, this thread isn't political, but it is extremely offensive.

The OP didn't say you had to believe in those thngs to vote "correctly" IT did seem however that it if you believed in those things, then you were being encouraged tovote. ??????

Without choosing "sides" I agree it was in poor taste, and bordering on being in violation of TOTV political post quidelines.

You're right, the OP simply said if you believe in those things, then please vote. I took it to mean that those who have other beliefs should stand by the wayside and not vote. To me, voting is important and everyone should be encouraged to vote, regardless of their beliefs. It seems some do not believe this. How sad and still extremely offensive.

I use to think that way too. I mean that it is our patriotic duty to vote. However given several samplings of the typical voter on the street by various television personalities and a movie I recently viewed called Compliance I am convinced that the average voter is below average. Now add to that the number of cases of voter fraud and it really get depressing.

PS I voted on October 21 right after my round of golf.

I think I voted twice. (Can't quite remember) and I'm a Democrat!
