Daily Sun Football Article: "Love of game, life of pain"
This was on the front page of the sports section on Sunday, April 26th.
Five Villagers, all former football players, were interviewed for this article. The subheading was, "Five Villagers recall their days playing on the gridiron, and the ultimate price they continue to pay." You might still have this news article at home. It's well worth reading. I didn't realize the extent that football players suffer a lifetime of multiple health issues. Basically, what was expressed was a fear of the future due to multiple surgeries and daily aches and pains. Multiple concussions and the risk of dementia is a big part of it but it's not the only worry. Many former football players have had knee, ankle and foot injuries to the point where they can hardly walk. |
Sadly, a lot of knee and joint injuries plague most world-class and professional athletes. Football players and boxers have the added risk of severe brain issues in their future. Sad how neither the athletes nor the public are aware of these risks. Even sadder how little those who do know are willing to speak out or even care.

It's all about love and love is an emotion that often rules people's lives. That's why it's so difficult to change any of these self destructive behaviors. |

Following your logic, are we supposed to get rid of all the love in our life? Do you think too much love causes people to overeat? Or do we all need more love in our lives in order to avoid self-destructive behaviors? |
