Robot vacuum cleaners

Does anyone have a Roomba or similar robot vacuum cleaner who has all tile floors? Just curious as to how many people have them and how do you like them. Will they clean the entire house (1,900 sq ft) on one charge?

if it can't it returns to it's charging station when the charge gets low, but it should do it easily.

It's nice to come home and find all the floors vacuumed so we think our Roomba "Jeeves" is great. He usually vacuums all the tile and carpet areas without recharging but will automatically head towards the charging station when needed. Roombas are expensive but worth every penny especially since they vacuum all those hard to reach areas. We're looking for a sale on a floor washing iRobot so Jeeves can have a sibling ;-)

Thanks, it helps me make up my mind. Now I just have to decide what to name him.

My sister has one and she has two cats. She told me the other day that it picks up a full cat's worth of hair every day. lol

We have the Roomba 650 and a huge Golden Retriever. You wouldn't believe the amount of dog hair this thing picks up. Before we got the Roomba I used to think they were a toy. Definitely not a toy! Ten months into the year warranty the Roomba wouldn't change directions properly when hitting an obstacle. Customer support had me do a few tests then sent me a brand new Roomba without even asking for a credit card. They only asked to return the broken Roomba in the box the new one came in, all prepaid! The new one only took a couple of days to arrive. You can't ask for better customer support than that!

How about Mr. French from the TV series " Bachelor Father " or Uncle Charlie from " My Three Sons " ? :jester:

I've had Robby for many years and now have Roberta. Both of ours came from Woot and were refurbished. The cost was far less and Robby is almost 8 years old. I still use a vacuum twice a week and depend on the two robots to get under the beds, couches, and places it's difficult to vacuum without moving the furniture. With two labs and an occasional foster pup, they are worth every penny we spent. We have a combination of tile, wood, and carpet. They scoot around without any difficulty.

I just bought a new vacuum cleaner for my wife for her birthday, and she loves it. It's very easy to use. She vacuums when I'm out of the house, so it is very quiet, too.

Your wife must be a wonderful, understanding woman, or you are trying to get a rise from every female on this forum!

My son bought me a roomba for christmas several years ago. Worked for one year and died.. Recharging didn't work and the battery was going to cost what the unit did. I pitched it.

Can someone recommend a particular model that they've been happy with?
There seems to be a considerable difference in price among the various models.

We have one and love it. Our "non shedding" dog seems to drop bits of fluff from time to time and our Roomba picks it all up. I'm always stunned at how much it collects in one swipe. I think it will fill up before it needs charging - although it will return to the charger on its own. Can't live without it.

My hubby wanted a rider mower and I said as soon as I get a ride-a-vac.
