Name the movie where something unusual happens:

For example, I just saw a DVD movie where the following happened:

I believe the year was 1889 and a group of Germans were traveling by horseback going from the U.S. up through Canada. So it was a very long journey through nothing but wilderness.

At the end of the day they would stop to rest and eat what little food they had. One man decided to walk alone, I think he was looking for wild game.
Anyway, he stepped on a bear trap and called for help. His traveling companions freed him and put a tourniquet on his leg. Eventually, they decided that his leg needed to be amputated.

Here's the unbelievable part: All they had was a little hand-saw that they normally used for cutting tree limbs. You know how the teeth are set on a tree saw? With no anesthetic, no bandages or anything, they cut his leg off. How could they possibly have thought he would survive the trip when they were hundreds of miles from any town?

What was the name of this movie?

I really hate it when someone misuses a tool. Did they eat the leg?

A very strange topic indeed.

What movie did they spit potatoes out of their mouths and say, "This looks like a zit."

Oh, that's easy and didn't need Google for the answer... Animal House !!!!
Right?

DonH57 05-21-2015 07:24 AM

Yep. Animal House. Wasn't it the cafeteria scene with Belushi?

Not sure if anyone watched The Vikings on the History channel but one of the Vikings had a badly damaged arm so they heated a battle axe and chopped the arm off while other Vikings held him down.

Imagine in the real world back in the pre1800s when the warriors, etc. had a limb to be amputated and they had no saws, etc.. It had to be brutal.

Oh, my gosh, for a minute I thought you really had it. That was an amazing attempt but unfortunately it was not "Severance".

I know what you mean. Couldn't they at least have had a hacksaw for getting through the bone? They had room to bring a case of whiskey but no first aid kit.

There was no word on what they did with the leg. (Roast leg of man?)

Well, yeah! It was strange. But most of the movie was not that strange. It was the leg incident that made it strange but that was only a small part of the movie. I just thought I would give everyone a leg up on what the most unusual part of the movie was.

I wouldn't get any enjoyment from watching a gory movie. :yuck: But that's what makes TOTV a great Forum. To each his own.

Movies by N. Shayamalan always have strange twists. He has a new movie coming out about visiting grandparents. Should go over well here in TV ? ,

In this movie Dorothy thinks she's in Kansas but she's not. Or is she? Let me know if you need any more hints.
