Almost witnessed fight at Sharon

Last night we had our first opportunity to attend the Sharon. Was great, we enjoyed crystal Gayle and had 2nd row seats! No problems. Prior to the show they had an announcement to turn off your phones, iPads, tablets, etc. No problem for us as we had none of above with us. On the way out we saw a man yelling at another fellow who was sitting maybe 3 rows ahead of him. He was yelling "I paid good money for these seats and how dare you be so rude and keep taking pics and possibly filming with his phone during the show. It was extremely distracting , how dare you". I thought the guy was going to punch out the other guy out it must have been the light from his phone that was distracting and in a way I could understand the guy getting upset. They did announce to put all away and maybe the guy was constantly filming. It was interesting for sure

I can never understand why people take pictures instead of watching the show they paid to see.

I guess no matter where you live, there is always someone who does not think the rules apply to THEM.

Me neither. We borrowed a videocamera once to take on a trip and ended up putting it away after the first day. Couldn't see the forest for the trees.

You have to wonder why the guy just didn't go get an usher.

Ironically, it sounds like the complainant was more annoying than the scofflaw.

I was at KB's when Donna Moore was appearing and a couple were talking so loudly, it ruined the performance for me. They also got up and were dancing in the aisle in front of me obviously blocking the view. I let management know and they were spoken to.

How rude and inconsiderate some people can be. Some people think it's all about them. :(

I would have reported this episode to management when it started to happen and let them handle the inconsiderate person.

I could see maybe trying to snap one quick picture of the performer but then you really should put it away especially since they made the announcement prior to the show. In the dark I guess the lights the phones give off can be distracting. Maybe the fellow didn't want to run around to find an usher and miss the show is all I can think of

There are some VIP's very important people (in their mind only) who are of opinion that rules do not apply to them and show no consideration for others. They are at shows, movie theaters, on the road and town squares. Might as well get used to the reality that they exist and they won't change.

Years ago my parents took me to the Met in NY. A woman sitting in front of us was humming along with the opera singer. My dad leaned into her and said "I paid to hear Her sing not you". Boy, that shut her up fast.

Probably that is the case but doing a slow burn and being annoyed throughout the whole performance would not have been an option for me. I'd rather have missed a couple of songs, that ruin the whole evening. By yelling at the end of the performance, he makes himself look bad to those around him. IMHO

What part did this idiot not understand about putting away all phones and cameras? The show is meant to be enjoyed by all people and just not those who feel they are more entitled.

Went to a Ranger game at Tampa and some idiot constantly stood up at seminal moments in the game as if he had paid more for his ticket than people sitting behind him and all they could see was his back. I felt like whacking in the head with a broom, to knock some sense in him, but that's me.

You can't fix stupid!

I keep waiting for the day that a person being complained about in a thread is a member of TOTV.
I've been waiting since 2007, but it's never happened.
Or perhaps the person being complained about is too embarrassed to post a defense.

Similar aggravation goes on in church pews every week for the last 50 years.

It happened to me last week in church when grandma, daughter and granddaughter kept having their airhead conversation while the service started and considerate people are trying to hear the message. I got up and moved, but that can't be done at The Sharon with paid seats maybe all sold out.

Worse yet is when a couple seated ahead of us can't keep their hands off each other and keep stroking the other's back and neck. CRINGE...... Somebody needs to tell them to knock it off, or get a room.

Boudicca 05-30-2015 12:18 PM

We were at the Black Tie Gala First Night show with Pattie Lupone as the performer. Despite the requests for no cameras etc., people up front took pictures throughout the performance. You can't fix stupid, nor selfish.
