Daily sun bias
I'm looking thru the paper this morning and I notice the story about the failed lawsuit against the developer. I think it's interesting that whenever there are crimes such as dui's, assaults, burglaries or thefts in stores mentioned in the paper it NEVER gives any names or addresses it just says a villager. This mornings article since it was a failed lawsuit against the developer not only does it give names they even put his picture in there.

It appears to me that the policy of the Sun was always to report the news but try not to embarrass or disturb the people who live in The Villages, which is different from the online news. By the way the online news is owned and run by the previous managing editor of the Sun.
I am glad that this issue is giving the details that one could expect from a newspaper. . |

How Sad
How sad that some actually cheer for others to be hurt. I kind of recall when others did not like this treatment in some papers, (not Daily Sun) but cheer when others get it. You can't make this stuff up! It's the kind of world we now must be living in !:(

I would guess that this news falls into a different category than drunk driving or shoplifting. I certainly think that this news needs to be reported. There isn't anything about the article that I find incorrect or misleading. The Sun has always been pro developer and very conservative politically. It serves a largely conservative populace. The Sun was conceived and owned by the Morses up until about four years ago when the business was sold to a person who I believe to be a friend of the developer, Phillip Markward, publisher. It is widely known that the developer is a large contributor to the Republican Party as well. |

Huge sinkholes have been photographed and written about in the Sun. You have only been here about a year. No need to fuss, we now have the online news too. |

Are you talking about the online news that does name names and shows pictures? We all read it, don't we? Maybe the drunk driving photograph's MIGHT make some social drinkers think a time or two before getting behind the wheel. Some pictures do make us cringe. We react to crime in many ways. Most of us Villagers will not get our names and pictures in the news under crime, Thank Heavens. |
Perhaps because he likes living here. The quality of the newspaper is pretty low on my list of what's important. For example, should someone not use the internet because of msn.com (a propaganda machine for the left)?

Newspapers have bias. When I lived in the north, I knew which paper to buy to get this or that viewpoint. It's not a surprise or something new. We are well aware of the Daily Sun and it's conservative happiness and other bent. T here are other papers readily available with different viewpoints and the daily doom and gloom report. Life is what it is. We choose what to focus on moment by moment including you.
