SECO bill this month???

Our SECO bill generally runs in the high $40 during the summer when no one is in the home. This month however, the bill was $61. Anyone else have higher than normal bills? Maybe because it has been so hot and the air conditioner is running more?

Are you there? Or is house empty

lanabanana73 07-26-2016 07:14 PM

House is empty.

Our SECO Bill is more than $40 in the cool months!

What size house do you have, what is the thermostat set at?

Mikeod 07-26-2016 08:12 PM

We had the hottest June on record here this year. Your system may have had to work harder/longer each day.

When we were snowbirds one of the best investments we made was a humidistat. The air conditioner only kickedon if the humidity in the house was high.

Florida in 1997!

Ours went up as well, It was a warmer month than usual. Did you check your billing period? Usually 27 to 30 days, my most recent was a bit over 5 weeks, so that accounted for most of the increase.

I would guess that you do not have a problem with the home and it is just the weather. Although you might look at the KW used and not just the dollars.
