Best pizza

Who has the best pizza in / near The Villages?

Chatbrat 04-03-2017 11:46 AM

Its really the cream of the crap--there are no really good pizza's in TV--Go to the BackYard Winery--for some unique Pizza's & they're in Wildwood

Some say Flippers others say Bravo and still others say NYPD [emoji487][emoji487][emoji487]take your pick.

Actually NYPD Pizza ? They are a chain and the ingredients are shipped in from ??. My view is they should be arrested for selling imitation Pizza..10-20..with 5 yrs probation.

Take a drive to Big Bob's Pizza 12909 E Hwy 25, Ocklawaha FL.32179..1/2 hr. drive tops. They are the best without a doubt. After that a toss up between Bravo and Flippers.

Most are mediocre at best. The only one who is consistently good is Belleview Pizza. On 301 left side after the merge of 441 in Belleview.

Never tried the place but every time I drive by there people are sitting outside waiting to get in.

Belleview

We tried it and it was okay. Not worth the drive. Cane has good pizza as does Mallory. IMHO beautiful is in the eye of the beholder. We all come from different places, ergo we are different beholders.

Pavarotti's in Ocala. Route 200. Located in strip mall in front of Top of the World.

I agree, no pizza in TV is all that good

The best (of the worst) that I found are:

Giovanni's
Mom and Dad's
Francesco's

Worst of the worst:

Hungry Howie's (all time winner)
Pizza Hut in Wildwood
Domino's in Wildwood

I grew up in a small deep south town and never heard of pizza until I was adult. Had I not misheard the lyrics of That's Amore, I would have know about pizza in 1953 but I thought Dean Martin was singing "When the moon hits your eye like a big piece of pie" and not "like a big pizza pie". The first time I ever tasted pizza was in London when the USAF stationed me in England.

And how do you know the ingredients are shipped in from ??.
According to their website "At NYPD Pizza our sauces are homemade and produced with vine-ripened tomatoes. We use only pure olive oil and 100% real mozzarella cheese. All key food ingredients are grown domestically & produced in the USA, and whenever possible we use locally grown produce."
Not sure I see imitation here.

Is English pizza as bad as all other English food? ( I get to say that since my English ancestry dates back to the Norman conquest)

My brother and I like Hungry Howie’s pizza buffet for $6.50 on 301 in Wildwood. Eat pizza and then top off with cinnamon rolls and brownies. :coolsmiley:

Best price per pound!

This was a square pizza made by Italians. They asked if I wanted egg on it and being ignorant (and drunk), I said OK. They cracked a raw egg on top just before serving. Things went downhill after that and culminated with my being detained in a US military jail cell in the basement of the Douglas House by Hyde Park and having the Air Police call my First Sergeant at 4 am to notify him of my whereabouts.
