Help with Living Will / Revocable Trust

Hello My Fellow Villages...
Hopefully I am not in the wrong forum and apologize if I am.

My wife and I are moving to the Villages and trying to find attorney that can help me as far as re-writing a "Revocable Living Trust" that I set up and as I (we) are making Fla our "Primary" home (State) I am concerned that Revocable Living Trust (drawn up in Tenn) might not comply with Fla Laws and therefore would like to get attorney to "re-write" my current Trust.

I know there must be many fellow Villagers that have had this done and hope that you can recommend an attorney that specializes in this is honest and reliable to whom I can discuss this with.

Thank you for your help as you have helped in so many decisions.

Attorney

Susan Sullivan did ours. Her office is in Oxford off 466. Near the villages grade school.

Hey Chattanooga, from a former Chattanoogan myself (East Ridge, Brainard and Ooltewah), let me recommend the firm of Mary F. Trotter, P.A.. She did mine and we were quite pleased with the results. Her offices are at 13940 US Highway 441, Suite 210, The Villages which is in a small strip mall of lawyers, accountants, doctors, etc., on the west side of 441 between Lowes and Walmart (which are both on the east side of 441). You are very wise to update your will and other legal docs as Florida is unique and any legal expert you talk to will tell you to review and update. I would suggest that any layer you use should be certified in Elder Affairs (Trotter is). She also has assisted AARP in TV area with free seminars on estate planning, wills, trusts, etc. If I remember, her firm offers some small discount to AARP members also. The firm did have a web site at www.trotterlaw.com but it has been awhile since I visited that site so don't know how up-to-date it is.

Chat,
We are in the process of doing that exact thing right now.
Redoing (from NC) the Revocable Family Trust, Wills, Powers of Attorney and Living Wills.

We are using Milhorn on HWY 441 as our attorney.
Also he is very reasonable for this service.
(Less that half of what we paid in NC).

Two thumbs up for Milhorn

I recommend Millhorn Law Firm. They did a wonderful job explaining why things needed to be updated to Florida Laws. Final bill was very reasonable compared to the bill I paid in Michigan the last time I had things updated.

Thanks Chattanooga and welcome to TV.

I too need to have my documents updated so the information you received from our TOTV friends is timely. Now maybe I'll actually get off my duff and do it.

Again, enjoy your new home.

Thanks

Thanks for all the advice and can't wait to get down there with such a nice group of people. Now I'm trying to buy a 2nd Villa to (hopefully) rent out so I can use the LARGE garage for my cars.

Thank you again and I very much appreciate your help. I have learned NEVER to "put off today what you can do tomorrow"

Case in point.... They just diagnosed my brother who is 3 years old than me with ALS and told him he has 3 months to live since he just found out that the disease has "started" in his lungs.... first! We are all totally shocked as he was a career oriented "sports" fanatic!

I firmally believe to get "things" in order and NOT.... to wait on tomorrow

Thank you again for all the advice.
