Another 40+ Village resident in the news for the wrong reasosn.
 

A 47 year old Village resident over doses in the restroom at Walmart in Summerfield.
I believe this was the third similar incident in the past 10 days.
(If they can't make it on their own why do you think they will make it moving in with mom & pop)

I have to say "what the h..l" is he doing here? The greater majority of us have worked our buns off to retire in this beautiful place and now we have these scumbags moving in! I have no sympathy whatsoever for either him or his parents.

Wow, judgemental much? Maybe he is a low life and maybe the parents are supporting his bad habits. Or. Maybe he was in an accident, was over medicated by his healthcare providers, became hooked, was kicked out by his wife and his parents took him in so he could get clean because he has always been a good person and they love him unconditionally. We really don't know the circumstances and it could be any number of scenarios. I hope he gets clean and his parents get to see their love prevail, but if he doesn't deserve any sympathy, I hope he is locked up. In any case I, and we have no idea how we might react given similar circumstances.

I personally believe there are a lot of enablers in TV.

The parents probably aren’t blind to what is going on, just hopeful their love can change things. As EW said, we don’t know the facts behind the addiction. To judge without knowing all the facts is just plain wrong.

If we judged like that, we could assume that one poster here is an arrogant, insecure braggart. We could assume another is a kind, well-meaning, naive woman. And so on and so forth.

This type of sad situation is omnipresent. I see it literally everywhere among all classes. Seniors who take their drug addicted adult children in do them no favors. Enabling only prolongs the time it takes for addicts to bottom out. Some make it; some don't, but enabling only extends the agony for everyone involved, whatever the eventual outcome.

Wow, there was a lot of hate in those first three posts. Apparently you all have been reading the pablum Daily Sun for all of your news. The currently opioid epidemic (60,000 Americans died from it in 2017) affects more upper class young people than the “scum” you reference. I have a horrific problem with a close relative, so I am a bit sensitive to those who are ignorant about this. Wake up, get a life, and read the real news, deeply.

I don't see difference in that and all the Drunks that are medicating Daily, Putting all of use at risk! The bottom line is Drugs and alcohol are consuming Too many Weak minded that just can't make it through day without Medicating. Now, add that wilth all the legal Medicated from the pill pushers and what do we get. at least 70% coverage IMO. Basically there are little runs here that can be enforced. So IMO its only going to get worse!

Adult children who are losers that never worked are far different than the truly disabled.

Most times it's very obvious to tell them apart.
