Democrat Congressman worries US Navy will cause Guam to tip over, for real.

Here is the esteemed Democrat Congressman Johnson from Georgia's 4th District worrying that the Navy's plans for Guam will overload the island and cause it to tip over. This learned man also voted for Obamacare. I'd say we're in good hands; wouldn't you?

To this day, military historians are baffled as to why the Japanese didn't just tip over all the islands they captured after they started losing territory after the Battle of Midway. This maneuver could have effectively neutralized the American advance and is widely considered one of the biggest strategic blunders of all time.

:1rotfl: OMG Donna. I wish I'd said that. RichieLion, I saw the video earlier and wondered how Adm. Robert Willard kept a straight face. This is the same man who, responding to Rep. Joe Wilson's "you lie" remark, wanted Wilson censured and argued that the comment had an unseen racial undertone and that, if Wilson was not formally rebuked, "We will have people with white hoods running through the countryside again."

Thanks BK. I have to admit I had help with that one. My other half and I came up with a few good ones this afternoon.

I laughed so hard I almost fell off my chair reading your response. Thank you and your "better half" for the guffaws. It's good to keep our sense of humor now in this country and if we listen to a few more of these Democrats we'll have to hold our sides in.

There is a reason

The Japanese are smaller and lighter than most Americans. Could this be the reason.

This is the same guy that replaced that other genius, Cynthia McKinney.

The Congressman now claims it was a joke. Says his humor was 'sublt' and that, since he's been to Guam, he knew it couldn't PHYSICALLY capsize - he was being metaphorical.

Now, according to CBS News, the people of Guam aren't concerned about the congressman - they are more concerned with the Admiral's response.

Guam's governor and lieutenant governor, however, take issue with a comment Adm. Robert Willard, head of the U.S. Pacific Command, made during the same hearing.

"This is the farthest west U.S. terrority that we own. This is part of our nation," Willard said, explaining why the military chose to send 8,000 more Marines to Guam.

Guam Gov. Felix Camacho thinks Willard owes the people of Guam an apology for saying the United States "owns" Guam, Kuam News reports.

Lt. Gov. Michael Cruz said, "This is not just a base, this is our home. We want to make sure that this home continues to be a home we're all going to want to be a part of and to live in the quality of life that any other American citizen would want."

Spin

Yes, I was waiting for the Lamestream media to spin it the other way and try to make the military look bad. Typical.

How is it.......?

How is it that every time one of those Libs say something really really stupid, the media and their cronies have to explain what they really really meant. Why don't they say what they mean in the first instance. It would seem that you can not take anything that the Dems say at face value as the Lame street Media will always find a way to explain away the stupidity of those making the asinine remark and attempt to make them look intelligent. That is, only when the story is picked up by the news services and John Q. Public really really sees the Dems for what they really really are. Really really Ignorant and Arrogant.

How sad, for a U.S. Congressman to be so stupid as to put himself in a position where he has to make such a lame rebuttal.

Did you listen to the clip? There was no trace of humor and no sense of metaphor in his voice.

With respect to Bob Dylan:
"You can fool all of the people, some of the time,
You can fool some of the people all of the time,
Abraham Lincoln said that!
But you can't fool me,....I said that!"

Whatever, your generalization that all Democrats are arrogant and ignorant might be the most ignorant statement posted in a long time. You make it sound that the Republicans are the intelligent party, give me a break.
