New Square

Is it true that a new square is in the planning? Does anyone know the location.

champion6 04-24-2020 07:54 AM

Yes, it is being planned. At this time, only the planners know the location.

A very wise person told me the new town center will be just south of CR470.

Disney Springs

Look at current situation: Store and restaurant rents are based on hefty % of sales, so I bet those who are paying rent in Brownwood and other Squares and plazas like Colony ain't paying much. The Hotel is 10% occupied. The Emergency Care Center did not open. The Lofts are on ice. So I would say there's a lot of economic activity that has to come back before Morse ponies up any more investment...

With the current economic state, I don't think new retail and dining is coming any time soon. With social distancing here to stay, City Fire will only be able to accomodate half its former capacity. So you're going to have to build a place twice as big to hold the same amount of patrons you had before. That doesn't make economic sense.

Villagerjjm 04-24-2020 11:48 AM

It is all going to be "virtual reality". Just put on your glasses, and there you are!!! You don't even have to go to be there! Now that is what I call epidemic planning!!!

Did they really stop moving forward with the Lofts at Brownwood? I can’t find the link on the villages.com anymore.

ficoguy 04-24-2020 11:54 AM

As a CPA, I have many business clients in the area. Need I say more?

Correct. Some of the original buyers in Fenney that got tremendous deals 3 years ago are now selling, taking a 6 figure profit and building again in Southern Oaks. Not a bad investment at all.

vintageogauge 04-24-2020 11:58 AM

There is a lot of work going on south of 470 and west of 501 towards Sumterville. Have no idea what it is but trucks are running in and out of there all day long 5 and 6 days per week.
