Who is in charge?

I would like to know when we put our health care in the hands of the Villages. They do not pay our premiums nor are they responsible when we fall or swim without lifeguards. They are not liable for any injuries or the Flu and COVID-19.
We do activities at our own risk. Open all the sports and water activities and let We the People decide. There is no risk to employees who have to scan our Id’s.
Do we need to start a petition to play Volleyball which is safer than Pickle ball? Or a petition to replace those in charge?

Social distancing and volleyball do not exactly work together

New poster, doesn't understand how The Villages is managed, yet. This isn't a We the People government.

You can effect change

It's called ELECTIONS. "The Villages" (the CDD's) are our governing bodies and the ones who implement policy for all of us. Not happy. Vote for someone else.

Only works that way north of 466. But I am not complaining. I like how it is run.

Why would anyone join the villages health care?:ohdear:

You got to be kidding right Volley ball is more important than someones life.

The district is just following the state health departments recommendations.

I think these meetings are on hold for now. However, you can go to Village Community Development Districts and sign up for notifications and then attend. It will help...…

Community Development District Orientation
You are invited to attend our “Introduction to your Special Purpose Local Government” informational program. You will learn how the districts operate and learn other important community information about the people, services, and other supporting entities that help make The Villages a premier community.
No sign-ups or fees are required for this presentation. Sessions are held every Thursday at 10:00 a.m. at the District Office, 984 Old Mill Run.
You may call 352-753-4508 for additional information.

OK, let's see.....I did.

As a retired board certified internist, professor of medicine at the State University of New York, chief of staff of a community hospital and senior partner in the largest internal medicine practice in central New York, I think I know a little bit about healthcare,

If you know more, please enlighten me.

I don't believe that the OP was really talking about health care itself or the quality of healthcare in/around TV...but rather is seeing the continued shut down of some activities as 'big brother' watching over us

Maybe if you asked your question in a simple and coherent manner you might receive some useful answers.

My guess is, the Districts do not want to assume the liability of having a COVID-19 outbreak. (Rec. centers, pools, etc. north of 44 are under the jurisdiction of the Districts... not The Developer). YOU say you participate in activities at your own risk. But this is a very litigious society. They don't want to be reckless. So they are taking it slow... and trying to minimize any outbreaks.

If you think a petition is needed, then start one. When will we see it?

The CDD's don't make the decisions on what opens and what doesn't. You don't vote for those that make those decisions.
