Just the fact that it's only been 100 years since women have had the right to vote, is a travesty in itself and something of which we should all be ashamed. It also speaks to a national conscience, since our founding, of treating women and minorities as second class citizens. Yet, it seems like a lot of old white guys these days would love it, if the travesties of yore were still in effect in our country. I personally just don't get it.

Who are the "old white guys" who don't want women's rights?
I think it is wiser not to celebrate getting them and begin using women's rights to find and keep jobs that give power and to use that power to show you aren't just a sissy girl.
When a woman whines about inequality, she usually doesn't want to talk about choosing Art History for a major.
I have either had the good luck to avoid having men in my life who looked down on women, or I made deliberate choices. My female ancestors were strong women of their time and were encouraged and supported by the men in their lives.
I realize that you want to celebrate women getting the vote. Of course they did. They should and they did. They/we have it.
