Curious Minds Want to Know

Was driving through horse country today and wondered why horses live on farms and not on ranches, like cattle and sheep.

Probably the same reason people park on driveways and drive on parkways.

Pturner 08-12-2010 04:41 PM

And while we are being curious... why do some things burn up and some things burn down?

And, how high is up? That was the title of on old Three Stooges movie.

Maybe it's a regional thing. In the East we tend to have farms. In the southwest the tendency may be more toward ranches. I also think thoroughbreds tend to come from farms and quarter horses come from ranches.

Because

We eat animals that come from ranches but not from farms.

Hi Fellow Ohiogirl,

And if that steak is a really, really good one. Practically spoon-fed before....before....welllll....you know....sometimes we even know what name that steak used to answer to.

And if we are not connected to a side of beef that we knew when it was still out walking around, we sure know how to flirt with the butcher to get the absolutely best cuts.....or is that just me??? Ohhhhh, sometimes I just say too much......
