Tropical storm Eta
 

Just hoping some folks in the Villages could let Villagers who are currently not at their homes know how things were as the storm passed by earlier today. Was there any evidence of wind or flooding damage? I would be personally interested in a report from someone in the greater Tierra Del Sol area between Lake Sumter Landing and Spanish Springs.

I live 1 mile from TDS, and the "Storm" was just some winds (maybe 30mph) and some rain (4 inches). Pruned some palm trees, but that's it.

Non issue just south of Lake Sumter Landing. Some clean up of palm fronds needed but that is it.

Reporting from Village of LaBelle. The tropical storm Eta was of no consequence in our neighborhood.

Other than my plants got watered, things were not a big deal. However we did move all of our outdoor furniture out of the birdcage, to the lanai, next to the wall of the house. Around 3am rain and wind gusts enough that it moved our love seat 11 feet back into the bird cage, along with both rugs that were rolled up.

Could have been tornadoes as we have had in the past. I’d vote for media being over protective.

This would be the 2nd hurricane I slept through.
We got a lot of rain (the lawn was squishy this morning). But aside from that... not much to say.

Thanks for all the reports. Sounds like we have very little to worry about. I did not get my usual Thursday service ticket e-mail from TD pool service, so I guess the storm delayed their schedule. Hopefully the outdoor furniture we left in our birdcage in late October did not wind up in the pool (it is all stored in the garage during the typical hurricane season). When we left our home we figured hurricane season was behind us and it was safe to leave it out until next July.

Not much happened here in the Villages of Lynnhaven but some other parts of FL and the East Coast of the USA were hit hard by this storm.

You mean the only one that happened in The Villages in 2007?

Can't contribute details about your village but there was a lot of street flooding in my area and found out there's holes around the peddles in golf cart. HAHA Newbie with those things.

what area was the flooding? no flooding in Bonita.

We had more severe summer storms than what ETA was.
