disservice at village carts in brownwood

i had a problem with my ezgo electric cart, it needed 4 new battery's. cover under my 3 year warranty.my cart has 6 8volt battery's, so they replaced 4 battery's,the other 2 are 2 1\2 years old. so i wanted them to replace my other 2 batterys and i would pay for them . village carts in brownwood say no, that i cant buy the other 2 batterys from them. i ask cris gram the sevice manager why, he say his boss matt say no. im seeing red over this. i will never buy anything from them ever again. is this anyway to run a business.

If you did a search you would see many good reviews for Battery Boys, they come to you. Here's their website.

Battery Boys (352) 643-1241 - Home

I bought my Yamaha from TV at LSL almost ten years ago and I have never taken it to them for anything. Never had any problems and I have maintenance done by Willie at my home.

Topspinmo 12-17-2020 03:27 PM

Agree, what difference does it make when you offered to pay for 2 batteries.

CoachKandSportsguy 12-17-2020 05:34 PM

everyone has their reasons, and most likely yours doesn't matter to them but there are other places, so respect their point of view as theirs, and find a place where you have a view in common, ie, the place which will sell you what you want at a reasonable price.

You should be able to deal with what you know, I just can't deal with what i don't know.

WOW! Glad we didn’t buy our golf cart from them. They are overpriced in many ways. And we bought gas for that reason. Batteries are too expensive.

That just doesn't make any sense. Why wouldn't they sell 2 batteries plus the cost of installation? Really bad business. I think the BIG Boss needs to hear about this.

Call Battery Boys. They are the best and do an excellent job right at your house. Remember "Battery Boys", not another company with a similar name. They put new Trojan Batteries in my 2007 Club Cart.

JohnN 12-18-2020 08:53 AM

take some deep breaths, and let it go because they don't care.
then go to Battery Boys

Monopoly

You call Seniors vs Crime and what is one of the first pieces of advise you get? Don't pay up front!. You contact one of Developer owned Golf Garages in The Villages and purchase
something which has to be ordered and what are you told, "we need all the money up front". So you decide to go to some other Golf Store in The Village. Oop's, there are no others. Remember when Town and Country Golf store was available in the plaza near Publix's in Spanish Springs and they were really good. But allegedly their rent was increased to the point they could not keep the business. As soon as they were allegedly run out of town these golf garages opened up in all 3 town squares. Sure they can over charge..There are no other local choices! You can argue all you want but in the end you have a choice of a Golf Garages and availability in the Villages or a Golf Garage in The Village's and both demand pay up front. :ohdear:

yes, i called battery boy and they installed 2 batterys for me. thanks battery boys.

Your last comment is the best thing you can do. They just aren’t that good. Ive found the quality of their work to be poor (same problems fixed multiple times over three years), their depth of knowledge of your cart to be limited to one or two technicians in the shop who don’t necessarily work on your cart. After repeated trips to repair the same problems I finally realized they were good for oil changes only. Brake, suspension and engine work go elsewhere. They do have nice show rooms though.

Brownwood Cart Repair

Indeed they do not care and I refuse to go back there after many screw ups. It is very frustrating to pay $15k for a cart only to have sub par service offered. Sub par is being kind. They really need new management to whip the goobers into shape.

There are other choices to purchase carts

Go to Villages Discount Golf on 466. They also have a store on 441/27 just past CR 42 in Summerfield. They have a way better selection of ALL options and their prices are much better. Bought our cart from them and are 100% pleased. They come with a 5 year warranty.
There is another place, Carts & Clubs in Ocala nearby and Cart World in Lady Lake. Those are a few of the other nearby dealers, but there are many others, as well.

My two cents worth.
First of all I used to cell expensive rechargeable equipment and like a golf cart we had several batteries strapped together. You could replace as they are suggesting some of the batteries and save money. A better idea is what you wanted to do, replace them all.
The reason is you charge all six batteries together. The capacity is only as much as the weakest, oldest battery in the pile.

You may be talking to the wrong person. You mention a Chris Graham. His position, while he needs to face the customer he cannot he will not violate what his boss told him. You should insist upon talking to Matt.

I do not know either of them. I would discover Matt's hours and where he is and do not allow him to duck you. As explained your request, for two more new batteries that you pay for seems totally reasonable. If, there is a valid reason why it is not, they obviously did not explain it to you. Perhaps, that guy Matt, the boss, can do a better job for you.
