Are we getting too Lax about virus??

Noticed we had 72 new cases in TV yesterday 2/24/21. Perhaps too many thing are being opened back up like it is all over. Very few people at squares are wearing masks, and social distancing is a thing of the past.
I will not be sucked back, even though I have both vaccinations. I will wear a mask and social distance when I can. I will not eat indoor at restaurants, and I will not go to events that do not require CDC compliances.

It's nice that you state your opinion. Mine is that you do what you like and I'll do what I like. I wear a mask where it's required and since the government doesn't own the air you breath(yet)I won't be wearing one out of doors and I avoid crowds except grocery shopping(and they require a mask-which I wear).

Oh yeah..."getting too lax?"....no.

No, just getting too tired from the ever-changing BS information the "experts" are feeding us daily.

Getting too lax, no, we have been too lax since the beginning. I am hopeful that as more people get vaccinated we will become safer and that things return to "normal"
I personally know several people who have died from the virus, and many others who became quite ill, so it is concerning to me.

Many of us now have been vaccinated and (right or wrong) have changed our behavior...go more places...wear mask where required (usually not when we are outdoors unless in close quarters).

So there are more people starting to expand their boundaries.

too lax since beginning with over half a million dead (some you know?) many lives could have been saved and can be saved now

What has changed in the last 60 days? The squares were open then with entertainment and tree lighting. Restaurants were open then including indoor dining. The pools were open then though maybe it was a little too cool for swimming. Some snowbirds were here then and even more are here now. And on December 26 there were 70 new cases reported in the Villages for a total of 2,083. What are the "too many things" that have reopened and caused a one-day case count to be the same as it was 60 days ago?

Today only 22 new cases. PANIC, PANIC, PANIC. Isolate , wear masks in your home, social distance even from your pets, don't watch the news and only drink distilled water. Wear at least 19 masks if you must venture outside while in your car and at least 30 if you are forced to exit the vehicle.

Do we have to wait until Covid is fully eradicated until we get back to Costco, Trader Joe's and dog poop threads ?? Every day it's the same thing over and over. Never thought I'd miss those topics so much. I guess it's good for TOTV advertising stats. Hey mods, how about a "Covid 24/7" forum section ?

I drive by Havana late afternoon the other day and the parking lot was full with a line of people out the restaurant doors; stupidity gone to seed.....

Dgizzi 02-25-2021 08:00 PM

We are sick of it. I have been eating inside restaurants I do not wear a mask walking around outside. Worse thing to do. I do not wear a mask riding in my golf cart. I do not wear a mask riding in my car. I have lived in The Villages since last March when everything close down. I have gone to stores, restaurants, bars, the squares and have not gotten sick. I am 58, my boyfriend is 69. Guess we are lucky.

While you’re at it, please wear a mask while sleeping, showering, bike riding, in your golf cart and any time you are breathing.....that should cover it.....literally. Don’t ya think if masks worked the virus would be over by now???? I stopped wearing a mask months ago, after I realized I was being fed a bunch of BS. I’m going to live “freely”...for now.
