Morse Bridge to be fixed, but not the bridge?

They are going to spend 1.38 million to fix erosion by the Morse bridge. The PWAC says the bridge is fine and the problem is erosion. "There is no problem with the bridge. There never has been. This is an erosion problem"

I guess that bumpy bridge deck is considered normal and won't be fixed?

That bridge was a horrible design. The MMP is way to narrow and the sidewalk doesn't extend to the whole bridge. I've seen many a golf cart hit that sidewalk where it begins and almost flip. Very dangerous bridge especially at night if don't realize that the sidewalk begins at the middle of the bridge.

The land upon which the bridge is built is the responsibility of the PWAC because that's they way it was set up. The road is the responsibility of Sumter County not the PWAC. So your They, meaning the PWAC is not the agency to complain about if you are unhappy with the road. Even if the PWAC felt the road needed fixing, it is not within their power to fix it.

Always best to become informed before making a complaint.

That’s good to know that PWAC which paid for by residents. Being its’ the resident land now I can fish from the rip rap. :icon_wink::ho:

I find the bridge to be fine as long as you are careful. To widen the path any would eliminate one of the car lanes which will not happen as that will start the traffic complaints again.

It was more like a curious observation of what seems to be a badly designed and constructed bridge.

am.zinger@aol.com 03-27-2021 06:10 AM

How can the bridge be OK if it's foundation is eroding?

At the speed limit of 10mph it's not dangerous. It's maniacs going 25mph that make it dangerous.

Yep, and the speeding maniacs are always the complainers. Youre in a golf cart! Not a car! You dont owm the road though you think you do. Slow down!!
