What to do with hundreds of music CD's

Another round of de-clutter underway....
Are they worth anything to anybody?
Goodwill?
Trash?
Other?

Probably depends on what categories of music they are and who are the artists

Assuming you don't want to compile a complete list, can you give us an idea on both?

I had about 800 CDs. I copied all of them to my computer into an uncompressed ".wav" format and a compressed ".mp3" format using Windows Media Player. It took a long time, but now I have full access to the music on a thumb drive, or I can create a perfect CD copy in about 5 minutes. I also have the files stored on the cloud. The original CDs are pretty much worthless.

Superglue and modern art come to mind.

Great music and memories! Store them on a USB drive and enjoy the time when music was music and not misogynist crud.

I was going to ask if you ripped the CDs already - glad you did! Charity begins at home ... would your local rec center appreciate them? If not, I'd contact goodwill or the sheriff's charity.

I still listen to CDs in my car. There's only one radio station I ever listen to when I'm driving around here, and half the time it plays music I don't want to hear.

Libraries used to have a great selection to borrow but now the shelves are nearly empty. I borrowed many to put into iTunes so I could listen on my phone. Not sure if there isn’t interest or they disappeared or became too damaged to play. Maybe the two libraries in The Villages would be interested. I’d appreciate a larger selection.

I use them as bird scarers ( bl**dy pigeons) on my vegetable plot.
String through hole, hang on canes, they spin in breeze reflecting the light, works a treat.
Funny thing is, songbirds just ignore them.
Maybe they like the old music as well!:)

CDs

If you want something to do, put them on EBay. They already have the popular items as templates. Just look the item up to see what it is selling for. You might be surprised.

I did that about 9 months ago, along with cassette tapes, books, DVDs. Priced low to sell. Had to buy a digital scale and label printer.

So far about 20% have been sold.

Keeps me off the streets at night...

I could use your CDs!

I’m in the process of ‘ripping CDs to a couple thumb drives for use in the car, and would Love to see what you have, and (possibly) use them. Please give me a call (602-418-8267). After I’m finished I would be happy to do whatever you’d like with them (donation to Goodwill, etc).

I found a few at the Pinellas Library, but was surprised at the overall lack of variety. Seems like donating to the library might be a very good option!

Thanks! / Casey

Salvation Army accepted a big box of CDs when we downsized last month.

I teach a Tap Dance Class and would be interested in suitable music.

Put them up for sale. If no bites, dump them

There are flea market sellers who buy whole collections. I have many hard to find CD's that I have purchased from both Market of Marion and a fantastic seller at the Daytona Flea Market.
