Feltman’s Hot Dogs
We’ve discussed the best hot dog in TV but I don’t recall anyone recommending Feltman’s of Coney Island, which was the inspiration for Nathan’s, and is coincidentally sold today in Publix and Fresh Market. So if you don’t mind paying a little extra and grilling your own, Feltman’s makes a terrific hot dog. Not salty like Boars Head and 8 to a pack. After trying them tonight for the first time I’m sold!
BTW, The History Channel has a series, Food That Built America, and says Feltman’s of Coney Island was the inspiration for Nathan’s. so they’ve been around awhile. |
Nathan's won the hot dog war with better marketing and then Feltman's disappeared... Until I think about a year or so ago when they brought them back.

Thanks. Good to know. Are they the natural casing ones?

At the corner of 301 and 466A there is an old building that once housed a coffee shop. It is now being renovated and will reopen as a “Coney Island” style hot dog shop. That’s all I know.

Best Hot Dogs in the country are UNCLE AL'S in Virginia Beach and never on TV. Their advertisement is word of mouth.
