What a way to run a Bank!

Just received my 6/10 Checking Account Statement from Citizens Bank. No transactions shown from 5/11 - 6-6. Only transactions shown were from 6/7 - 6/10. Called the Bank to tell them they have a problem. They explain that this statement is only for transactions after the date of their recent system conversion. Then I was told I would be getting another statement with transactions dated from 5/11 - 6/6.

Really I said, wouldn't it have made sense to put a notice in with this statement explaining that there would be two statements this month. No response. What a way to run a bank! Pretty shoddy even considering the bank is owned by the Developer.

People still get paper statements from their bank? Is this 2021 or 1986?

Hard to do a bank reconciliation if you don't get paper. Oh , maybe you don't know how to do one and simply trust that the bank is always right.

Everything that is on a bank statement is available online. And online, it can sorted by many different filters to make it more convenient.
I understand that some people prefer a pencil sharpener to a computer, I just prefer to work smarter not harder.

Haven't got a paper statement from a bank since 1998. Reconciling is a piece of cake.

I don’t like the new, confusing statement format

Not at all difficult to do a bank reconciliation against an online statement - I do it every month (and credit card reconciliations too).

I love paper statements.
Makes me feel the bank is doing something to earn the fee they charge!

Yes they are!!!!

They're wasting money printing statements from the stone age while paying you 0.05% interest. And probably contributing to a charity to save the rainforest to complete the hypocrisy. All banks, credit card companies and utilities should go 100% paperless immediately. And for those that can't handle it, an 800 number staffed by one 135 year old employee to help, average wait time, 4 weeks.

No paper statements and no fees. I don’t pay cc interest either.

My brother until recently was receiving brokerage statements via snail mail. After one mistakenly went to his neighbor and the neighbor opened it, probably without checking the addressee as he had an account at the same brokerage, my brother went paperless.

I don't even use the online statements. My accounts are reconciled every day, several times a day. I get an email every time there is a transaction.

Pretty good response from STFD. Will that do?

Why should I waste my paper and ink, just to save them a few $?
You don't think the banks are going to pass on any saving or raise interest rates if we all went paperless?
I can still see my daily use online, but like my monthly on paper, and filed in my records.

First of all, it's not YOUR paper and ink

Second, they might just lower a fee or two if they saved money

And third, you could do what I do-----download the monthly statement as a PDF and save it to a file. I can look at all my bank and credit card statements back to 1997. If you save them it would fill an entire closet with paper
