Where we are TODAY. Some survey, most all surveys have a bias they want to prove.
In any case survey among college students, one third are proud to be American, one third are not, one third are undecided. This is the lowest pro America in recorded history of this survey. It is OUR FAULT, we created this monster.
Not only that WE pay for it.

The media and educational establishment are largely to blame.

To be played loudly and daily......

as the words say....stand up....too many do not!!!!!!!

I stand up for the Nation Anthem, not a cheesy over played pop song. Sorry if that offends anyone, but I feel that if we demand proof of patriotism by being asked to stand up for for anything other than our Nation Anthem, we dilute the importance of the anthem.

NO, we are to blame, we allow it.

I feel its a disrespect to the national anthem to stand for this written for profit song.

They did good work.

1) This “new” version is at least several years old.
2) Probably 3 years ago I was showing guests around The Villages. We were at the Lighthouse when “Proud to be an American” was played over the loud speaker and diners all around us interrupted their meals to stand up. My guests and I looked at each other in absolute wonder/amazement (it was horror on my part to think that people may have thought that this was the national anthem).
3) In “the business” they say “it smells but it sells!”

Thank you. Agree 100% I have been yelled at numerous times for not standing for that song. It is NOT our national anthem. I am so tired of hearing it at every event and in the squares. Since when do we measure patriotism by forced allegiance to a pop song. Also tarnished for me by being used as a certain candidates campaign song. The same people telling me what to do and yelling at me are also screaming about "freedom" anytime they disagree with something.

Stand for the anthem, sing your heart out and kneel for God.

Listening to this song always stirs American pride in me - I don't mistake it for our National Anthem, but I like the words and the musical composition. And this particular rendition - enhanced by the cast of heroes who are serving and/or have served our country - gave me chill bumps!! I found it inspiring, uplifting, and unifying. Which, by the way, was the artist's intent. (see below) I have never felt "forced allegiance" to this song nor encountered anyone that mistook it for our national anthem. I certainly do not feel pressured to stand when it is performed, but if I had been there to witness this production, I probably would have to show respect to the military performers.
