Another Dog Poop Post

Please someone explain to me why people think they have the right to bring there dogs on other peoples property to do there business, Ugh take them on your own property!
On top of, they see people are trying to grow grass that is being destroyed by prior animals, but they bring them right back on the bad spots to do their business!
I guess stupidity is at a abundant in the Villages! UGHHHHH

An endless topic. I do like dogs. I do not own one but have in the past. Reality, it is an animal. You food into it and waste comes out. You can train a dog to go on your property but, its instinct knowing that waste is disease carrying is to not go on it's own property. A dog, most dogs will protect where they live.

Dogs are motivated by smell. Someone allows their dog to go on your property and the sign is posted. It is a dog restroom.

As we will soon discover it is a waste of time talking to pet owners. The solution is animal repellents.

When you see them out there turn on the sprinkler system.

I do understand all of your theory, but its the owner that has control, which I am most upset about!
Is it stupidity, arrogance's or just Village entitlement?

Focus a $30 dollar web camera on the area so you have evidence. Post in on Nextdoor so the violators can be identified to all members

I don't have a dog. This may be a stupid question, but doesn't dog poop actually help grass grow better? And, I have never noticed that dog urine damages the grass.

Bunny1 07-14-2021 08:27 AM

What is even more disappointing is when you have posted no pee no poop signs to protect your lawn and shrubs, the day you leave (snowbird) your neighbor's are using your property for their dogs and dogs they dont even own. Pet sitters with 2 and 3 dogs. If you think we don' t know who you are - other neighbor has video of you! We will be showing you our videos upon return!

NO, dog urine will damage your lawn. A male dog uses his urine to mark where he was reason why a male dog will urinate on every tree or bush he can get to. I does burn the bush etc. As to dog manure. First of all manure used as fertilizer comes from grass eating animals. In some countries the have and perhaps still do use manure from meat eating animals as well as from humans. It spreads disease. As manure including from grass fed animals is composted, allowed to decompose before it is applied other wise it burns plants.

I have a strange view of most things. I try not to get upset. Once you are upset you are no longer in control. I search for solutions to problems. Stupidity, arrogance, Villages entitlement, chance of correcting that is clearly zero.

Repellents do work. Pictures? Does anyone think the police will arrest a neighbor for allowing their dog to relieve itself on your lawn. Or that the person or persons doing this are not aware?

Entitled? The subject comes up endlessly. I recall a post where a pet owner objected to the fact that a neighbor put insecticide on his lawn. He felt his neighbor should be sure his lawn was safe for him to crap his dog on.

If your aggravated enough sue them. Don’t need a lawyer to do so. Perhaps that will get their attention

I keep saying the same thing, repellents. Clearly the people do not care. With a little humor, i am not aware of any dog that can read. Pet sitters with 3 dogs, I think that is against the rules we all agreed to when we bought here. Your video, if you do have it, show it to villages management if you decide to solve the problem. I still think repellents is the solution. No need to reason with neighbors who clearly do not care.
It does not hurt the dog.

Glad we are back to discussing 1st world problems.

Chellybean, I, too, get outraged if someone’s dog uses our yard to do its business. We have a dog and always pick up after it in our own yard. And yet, people seem to think it’s ok to let their dog poop in our yard AND JUST LEAVE IT!

If you’ve ever stepped in it, you know how annoying it is.

I know there have been a lot of threads about this, probably because this problem continues.

Yes, BTW, did you notice that we ARE the first world? In an economic sense.
