T-mobile cell service plan for 55+: any experience?

There is a senior (over 55) plan now available with T-mobile that I've read about. We use Verizon now and it seems like it would be about a $40. per month savings for us. Netflix is included. I was wondering if any of you have made the switch and what you think about the service? We are about to become snowbirds.
thanks to all,

We have used that 55+ T-mobile plan for years. We are grandfathered in at $60 per month for two lines. I think it is a bit more now. No matter who you use there are going to be areas where the signal isn't as good as you might like but overall we are very happy with it.

Prior to covid we traveled a lot (and hope to again soon!) and T-mobile is great if you go overseas. You get cheap calls in most countries (10c per minute, I think), free texting, and free (slow) internet which is good enough to check email and such. You can also upgrade during your trip to get faster service if you like.

Aren’t you on Verizon’s 55+ plan? $40 per line. Unlimited everything including Canada and Mexico.

If you are interested in the T-Mobile network, an alternative option is Mint Mobile, a prepay MVNO that uses the T-Mobile network. It is available for $15 per month for unlimited voice and text and 4 gigabytes of data. I have not had any issues in the 2 years I have had them.

If you have Xfinity internet, one of the best cell phone deals is Xfinity Mobile. You get the Verizon network and unlimited talk and text and 1gb of data or $13.77 per month. Verizon is almost always rated as the best cell network.

I have had T mobile south of 44 for over 2 years and no issues. We saved about $60 per month over what Verizon was charging us.

not sure about the villages, but t-mobile has always had spotty coverage around the country. Verizon is the deluxe standard for signal strength throughout the country. Signal strength/coverage is mandatory when traveling if you are using your phone for GPS. I used ATT before Verizon and just going 20 miles outside of Atlanta or other decent size towns, you would get no coverage. I have been on Verizon's 55+ plan for many years and pay $40 a month per line plus taxes for unlimited everything.

We have had tmobile for 2 years

T-mobile merged with Sprint and since the merger our signal has been very spotty. I called them and they said they were working on towers and they don’t know when everything is going to be completed.

Switched to T-Mobile from Verizon several months ago and are happy. Two phones, two cellular watches for $90/'mo. Free Netflix too.

You can try T-mobile, but I would bet the Netflix is not a permanent fixture with their cell service, probably just a hook to sucker you in. My husband and I used to use Verizon for our cell carrier, and we would pay on average 158.10/2 cell phones. I got tired of their ridiculous surcharges and fees in general. We switched to Consumer Cellular, and now we only pay 68.18/month, including taxes and fees. We haven't had any interruptions in our service, just as comparable to Verizon's minus the big bill. We have been very happy with them. You can go to any Target store, and purchase Consumer Cellular in their electronics/cell phone department. Good luck, hope this helps.

mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) is a wireless communications services provider that does not own the wireless network infrastructure over which it provides services to its customers.

Xfinity Cell service you should be paying only about $15.50 with all taxes per month for 2 lines sharing 1G. The best deal in the industry by a landslide.
